Merlin Training 2015 at Rutland SC

More of the same. The format has worked well (weather permitting) over the previous few years so we’ll be using the same framework for the training.

The core team is still in place (Pat & Jilly, Mike & Jane, myself, Chris Gould & Phil Scott) and I’m looking to get additional support, Pottsie has already committed. I shudder to think of the titles the team have won between them both on a world stage and within the Merlin community.

If you want to tap into this resource book now!

I’ve had a few repeat requests so anyone who’s been before won’t necessarily be subjected to the “It’s not racing” pep talk so will have more time on the water to practice their skills and get straight into the exercises.

Marion Read has kindly offer to help in an administrative/support role which should free up the coaching teams time a little, again facilitiating time for more sailing.

Dirty Hands will be in the pit lane but we hope that a full cockpit re-build in the garage won’t tie him up and prevent him from wheel changes for everyone else.

The main focus is again on boat handling and set up with talks, demos, exercises, alongside and in-boat feedback.

Rutland Waterfront are providing their full catering service with a basic bacon butty breakfast (you can upgrade on the day) plus wholesome lunches and evening meals. Pudding will be provided in the evenings as per previous requests (you know who you are!)

All this for £150. Please note that the team provide their time for free and that you only pay for launch fees, room hire, food and ribs etc.

Breakfast from 8.00am – course starts 9.30am further details upon entry.

Special offer – under 25s get a 50% discount courtesy of the MROA who are promoting the youth at this and other events throughout the year.

To book please complete a form (electronically) and email to Colin would like payment transferred over (if possible) Sort code 09-01-50, Account No 04337891

See you on the start line (oops, it’s not racing)
