Task 1 – you will need to make a PowerPoint presentation. Below are 9 slides which you could be making:

1.  Slide 1 – Your name and surname. Title – Application software ILC

2.  Slide 2 – When would you use word processing e.g. Microsoft Word?

3.  Slide 3 – Explain what you can do on Word e.g.

a.  You can change the font size and style

b.  You can do a word count

c.  You can add bullets and numbering

d.  You can add password

e.  You can add hyperlinks

4.  Slide 4 - When would you use presentational software e.g. Microsoft PowerPoint?

5.  Slide 5 - Explain what you can do on presentation e.g.

a.  Make new slides

b.  Add sound

c.  Add buttons

d.  Add animation

6.  Slide 6 - When would you use spreadsheets e.g. Microsoft Excel?

Task 2 is to make 4 Posters advertising each application software

1.  Make a poster aimed at Year 4 children to explain why desktop publishing software e.g. Microsoft Publisher is good to use

2.  Make a poster aimed at Year 5 children to explain why presentation software e.g. Microsoft PowerPoint is good to use

3.  Make a poster aimed at Year 6 children to explain why word processing software e.g. Microsoft Word is good to use

4.  Make a poster aimed at Year 7 children to explain why spreadsheet software e.g. Microsoft Excel is good to use

Level 3 / Level 4 / Level 5 / Level 6 / Level 7 / Level 8
Create a basic presentation listing some of the skills. Work includes some spelling mistakes and errors. / Completion of presentation with some animation. Some use of navigation with the use of buttons.
Completed 4 posters with some of the key points. / Created a good professional presentation and posters.
Used a good balance of images and text.
Key explanations given for each application program. / Created additional materials that could be used to teach the new skills you have described.
Described how these are new skills learnt to you and how they could be used in other ways. / Plan and create a storyboard design for a video to teach the skill similar the Teach-ICT video tutorials.
Evaluate the skills that you have learnt giving advantages and disadvantages for each. / Plan and create a Help Guide booklet which could be used for adults and Year 11 students.
You have described a new program not used yet such as Database.

Reminders.

The ICT department are looking to reward the expected good work produced in this ILC, but as a reminder failure to complete this or to an acceptable standard will result in 2 x 30 minute department detentions after school.
