Election Season

Pre-Season

þ  Enhance and cleanup voter database

þ  Coordination meetings with state election officials

Voter Registration

þ  Coalition Quarterly – The summer edition will include a voter registration form and return envelope. Roughly 50 to 60% of the 10,000 recipients are not registered to vote.

þ  Direct Mail Pilot – Will mail out individual letters to Coalition Quarterly recipients with a registration form and return envelope. This will be done about 100 people at a time to gauge success and determine whether it is worth continuing through the entire list.

þ  Registration Calls – Will offer phone lists of unregistered Tennesseans to member organizations who wish to hold a “calling night” or other event. Will mail out registration forms to those who indicate they want to register.

Get Out the Vote

þ  Coalition Quarterly – Feature voting related articles in the Summer and Fall editions.

þ  GOTV Training – Will hold a series of training sessions across the state in August to train grassroots supporters and organizations in GOTV and voter registration activities.

þ  GOTV Calling Nights – Will hold organization calling nights across the state to take place during the two weeks prior to the November election.

þ  GOTV Warriors – Will offer short calling lists to trusted individuals who wish to make GOTV calls when it is convenient for them.

Poll Worker Training

þ  State Election Office – Working with state election officials to develop new poll worker training materials for the November election.

þ  Training Video – The possibility of developing a training video for poll workers with state election officials and the Disability Rights

TN Disability MegaConference

This is an annual multi-day event featuring more than 50 workshops plus keynote speakers, hands-on activities, exhibitor booths, more.

þ  Voter Education & Registration – Coordinating with the Disability Law and Advocacy Center will we host a premium exhibit dedicated to voting issues. Will include an opportunity to register the nearly 1,000 participants as well as offer demonstrations of voting equipment.
