CTE 5000 SP:PLTW‐STI (3 graduate credit hour)

The Department of Career Technology Education at the University of Central Missouri is pleased to offer graduate credit for teachers completing the PLTW Summer Training Institute.

Final Grade Criteria

• To receive an “A”

o Submit an STI instructor signed copy of the PLTW Scope and Sequence/Portfolio Checklist.

o Checklist must indicate completion of at least 85% of the Activities/Projects learned at the STI.

o Submit an annotated outline that is 1‐2 pages long, which will include:

• Selection and sequencing of units for your area, or planned school

year calendar adjustment of the sequence for other PLTW courses

• Implementation of Reading Across the Curriculum

• Implementation of Writing Across the Curriculum

• Anticipated challenges to implement PLTW at your school

• The outline contains notes suitable for your use in preparing to teach the course

• To receive a “B”

o Submit an STI instructor signed copy of the PLTW Scope and Sequence/Portfolio Checklist.

o Checklist must indicate completion of at least 85% of the Activities/Projects learned at the STI.

Grade Deadlines – Summer or Fall Option

• Materials must be received no later than July 20 to have a grade posted for the Summer Semester 2011.

• Materials received after July 20 and prior to the FINAL DEADLINE of September 30 will have a grade posted for Fall Semester 2011. *Please note the tuition increase beginning the Fall 2011 semester.

Enrollment Procedure

1. Complete the enclosed registration form.

2. Attach a check made out to UCM for $327.30 for summer enrollment and TBA for fall. Please write CTE 5000 and the course abbreviation (ex. POE or PBS) on the memo line.

3. Complete the required course materials (see “Required Course Materials” on reverse side).
