/ From the desk of Mr. Brown, Principal
We are using our Sangha system for many items at Woodland Park Academy this year. Please make sure that you have signed up for a time to visit your child’s teacher during the upcoming conferences. Communication with families is very critical to the mission at WPA. We value two way communication and encourage all families to reach out with questions or feedback. Sangha is a great way to communicate with all WPA staff. If you need assistance with this program in any way please stop by the office or call.
Woodland Park Academy is drafting our Local Wellness Policy. This is a policy that will suggest healthy activities and monitor consumption of unhealthy foods during the school day. The group will meet a couple of times and create a draft. If you are interested in participating please email Mr. Brown at or call 810-695-4710 ext. 2506.
We are focusing on providing quality instruction in all of our classrooms for each lesson. It is critically important to our collective mission that students are present for each lesson. School begins at 8:00am and ends at 3:15pm. Please do all that you can to ensure your children are present for all lessons each day of school.
Finally, we value all of our interactions with the WPA community and have been really impressed by the participation in the Pay it Forward initiative. Students and adults have been seeking ways to help others and that has resulted in a very positive climate.
From the desk of Mrs. Martin, Assistant Principal
Did you know Woodland Park Academy is a Title I school? Are you interested in learning more about how we provide supplemental instruction to our students? If so, please join me November 17th at 5pm. We will discuss how additional instruction is provided to WPA students and get feedback from you!
Parent-Teacher Conferences: November 14th
Parent-Teacher Conferences are fast approaching. At Woodland Park Academy, it is our goal to meet with 100% of our parents and share with you the wonderful things your child is learning. Teachers will review your child’s work, discuss progress and growth, and discussed plans for continued learning. As a parent, it’s helpful to write down questions or concerns you might have before meeting with the teacher. Achievement occurs when teachers, parents, and students can develop a plan for success.
Conferences are Monday, November 14th and run from 8 am-7pm. Kindergarten through 4th Grade conferences should be schedule with the classroom teacher. Please be on time--these meetings run quickly. 5th-8th grade teachers and Specials teachers (music, art, technology, P.E.) will be located in the gym. 5th-8th Grade conferences do not need to be scheduled--just show up and line up to meet with your child’s teachers.
LOGO Clothing is in and ready to be picked up in the office.
