Book Club Assignment #2 – Literary Elements Word Wall
As a group, you will create a visually appealing Word Wall highlighting the usage of 3-4 related literary elements in your Book Club book. Each member is responsible for a different element, but you are all responsible for the combined, finished product.
STEP 1: As a group, decide which Word Wall to create. Decide who will be responsible for each element within the related category. Choose from the list below:

STEP 2:Create your individual poster. Use the example to the right. You must:
- Write the literary element at the top of the paper in bold, attractive, large lettering.
- Write a complete and accurate definition below the vocabulary word.
- Write an example of the element from your Book Club book. Either describe how the literary elementwas used in context OR use a direct quotation to demonstrate its usage (be sure to include quotation marks and the page number).
- Draw an original, colorful illustration of the example that helps the reader understand the literary element.
- Use care, neatness, and good effort in preparing an attractive visual that you would be proud to have displayed in the classroom.
STEP 3: Combine posters to create a Word Wall. This job will be led by the secretary, with the assistance of the group.
- Tape the 3-4 posters together neatly.
- Create and attach a heading. Neatly write the Word Wall category that unites your elements. Include a brief definition of the category.

STEP 4: Turn in your Word Wall. It will be put on display and evaluated by your classmates on Tuesday, October 18th.

Definitions: Each element is accurately defined. / 20 points

Examples: Every example accurately demonstrates the particular literary element. Text evidence is correctly cited. / 16 points
