CLUBHOUSE
The club will close for two weeks after Tuesday 13 December and re-open on Tuesday 3 January 2012.
The clubhouse will be open from 18:00 until 20:00on Tuesdays.
Therewill be 4km and 8km Time Trials starting at 18H00.
2012 LICENSES & MEMBERSHIP FEES
Admin (Registration Licenses) will be available on Tuesday evenings from 18:15 until 19:00
CGA licences will only be available at the end of January 2012 and runners are allowed to run in their 2011 CGA licences until then.
2012 Membership fees are as follows:
Seniors / R450 p.a. plus R80 CGA license = R530 p.a.Pensioners (Younger than 70 on 31/12/2012) / R200 p.a. plus R80 CGA license = R280 p.a.
Grand Masters (Members 70 and over on 31/12/2012) / R100 p.a. plus R80 CGA license = R180 p.a.
Juniors Age 1-19 (Age on 31/12/2012) / R100 p.a. plus R60 CGA license = R160 p.a.

From time to time you may receive sms communication from the club. If it requires a response please feel free to reply on the sms as it gets sent from the club’s cellphone contract by Noeline and she accumulates all the responses.

YEAR-END CHARITY RUN TUESDAY 13 DECEMBER 18:00!!
Next Tuesday 13 December is the last night that the club will be open for 2011. All members please join us, bring your friends and family, bring non-perishable food, clothing or a donation and run the last 4km “Time Trial” of 2011 as a club together!! All proceeds will go to support AMCARE.
CLUBHOUSE RENOVATIONS
On Saturday 19 November the old toilets were replaced with new ones, the plumbing fixed and the roof of the clubhouse re-painted. Thanks to Andries and Denese Venter, Glyn Rynhoud, Michael Brandon-Kirby, Paulus Jacobs, Gert Bezuidenhout, Gert’s Brother-in-law Riaan, Niel Cillie and Shaun Naidoo for the hard work on the day.
TIPPLERS TROT PUB RUN - 1 DECEMBER 2011 /Thanks to everyone who attended the Annual Tipplers Trot. Special thanks to Noeline Blignaut for arranging it. It was a HUGE success with 70 participants and a LOT of FUN! Here are some pictures. The rest will be put on the website.

- Annual Points System for Prize-giving:
Some members are not aware of the annual points system that gets used to determine winners in each distance and category at the annual prize-giving. The system is explained fully on the website Road Running -> Incentives or contact Andries Venter or Deon Pretorius for more information.
In summary:
- The first 3 runners per category at selected CGA, GN and Vaal races receive 100, 99 and 98 points respectively.
- To be considered for an annual category prize a person has to compete in at least 3 races (from the selected list) for that category for the year and the person’s top 3 points for the year for that category are added together.
- The top 3 points earners for the year win first, second and third place per category.
- A person receives additional points for breaking club records for a specific category and distance at any of the selected races.
- The reason for limiting it to CGA, GN and Vaal races is mainly to eliminate the advantage someone gains from running at lower altitude as well as to “equal” the playing field regarding costs to attend far-off races.

Well done to all the Alberton athletes who completed the Tough One on Sunday 27 November. The official results will only be available in January but the club had a very good day. +- 30 finishers and 7 silver medals led by Glyn Rynhoud and Rob Spear finishing in 2:07 and 2:08 respectively!

CHAIRMAN’S CHRISTMAS GREETINGS
It is my pleasure to look back today at the past twelve months, and share with our members what was another memorable year for AAAC. I sincerely hope that most of our members will look back at 2011 with only fond memories.
We again had some very memorable performances, like two Comrades silver medals, and 46 Finishers of the very tough Up-run .We have 79 entries thus far for the 2012 Comrades Down run – may you all make the Start-line ready for a good run.
A total of 8 of our athletes qualified, and were selected to represent CGA at the SA Cross Country Championships in Bloemfontein in September – Well done to all of you .At the Golden Reef 100miler Relay in October, Alberton AC entered a record number of 6 teams, and showed that this Club can be Top of the Class, with our first team not only winning overall , but also breaking the Course record by a long way , in one of the closest and most exciting events witnessed in a long time !!.All six teams finished well inside the cut-off time, and again did us VERY PROUD!!
