This award is for Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education Graduate Senior Faculty members (specifically for individuals who have been tenured for 4 or more years) who have extraordinary records of excellence and effectiveness in mentoring graduate students.

Nominations may come from JRCOE graduate students, and former JRCOE graduate students. Only one nominator is required per mentor, additional nominators (faculty or graduate) may provide endorsement for nominee below.

Letter of Support

The letter of support should summarize the extent which the nominee fulfills each of the selection criteria for the award.

  1. Extraordinary commitment and effectiveness as a mentor of graduate students including activities such as serving as major professor, minor professor, Graduate Council Representative, committee member, and so forth. (maximum 500 words)
  2. Demonstrated commitment to creating an environment supportive of graduate student success. (maximum 500 words)

Nominators may submit individual letters of support or add signatures to a master letter of support.

The nominator shall submit: (a) this completed nomination form, (b) the nominee’s position description, (c) the nominee's vitae, and (d) a letter of support (e) any additional documentation that illustrates nominee’s mentoring excellence

Letters of support should not exceed three single-sided pages. Please format letter using a one-inch margin and size 12 Times New Roman font.
