EYE TESTING PROJECT

Mr M Davidson, BVM&S, CertVOphthal MRCVS, (member of the BVA Eye Panel), will be in attendance on each day of the show.Testing under the KC/BVA Scheme for:

1)Progressive Retinal Atrophy

2)Hereditary Cataract

3)Retinal Dysplasia

4)Collie Eye Anomaly

5)PHPV & other diseases

NOTE: Mydriatic drops which dilate in the dog’s pupils will be used in all eye tests. These allow a more satisfactory examination. The drops are short acting and will not affect the performance of the dogs in the ring. (If preferred, dogs may be tested after judging)

PLEASE NOTE THAT FROM JANUARY 2010 ALL DOGS TESTED UNDER THE ABOVE SCHEMES MUST HAVE AN IDENTIFYING CHIP. NO CERTIFICATE CAN BE ISSUED IF THE CHIP IS NOT PRESENT AND READABLE AT TIME OF EXAMINATION.

Although any breed can be examined for eye disease, currently only the results of those breeds that appear on the Kennel Club Schedule A of the Eye Scheme are sent to the Kennel Club for inclusion on the computer records and printing in the Breeds Record Supplement.

All Kennel Club registered dogs eligible: £38.00 per dog (including VAT)
