Anchorage Christian Schools was established in 1972 as a private, not for profit Christian school sponsored by the Anchorage Baptist Temple. We offer both a college prep and general education course of study, as well as online options through Ignitia.

Anchorage Christian Schools Secondary Schools’ secondary teachers hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and must maintain certification through Association of Christian Schools International

Anchorage Christian Schools is a member of ASAA, Alaska School Activities Association and participates in Cross Country Running, Volleyball, Wrestling, Basketball, Track and Field, Cheerleading, Band and Choir.

Anchorage Christian Schools is an academically competitive school. GPA is based on a 4.0 scale.

AP courses receive a maximum of 5 points.

GPA is figured by averaging all of the classes that a student takes each semester. Rank is based on the

student’s cumulative GPA.

The AP Calculus and AP English Literature are our most advanced college prep courses. Other courses considered to be college prep are geometry/trigonometry, chemistry, advanced chemistry/physics, and anatomy.

Over the past five years approximately 60-75% of our graduates enroll in a four year college or university. Approximately 25-40% join the military, attend a two year program or trade school, or join the work force.

Secondary enrollment is232 students. 69 students are in junior high and 163 students are in high school. 52% of the secondary student body is male. The ethnic breakdown is as follows: 64% Caucasian, 9% African-American, 6% Alaska Native, 3% Hispanic, 9% Asian, 7% Mixed, 2% Other.

The average secondary school class size is approximately 21 students.

Approximately 50% of our student body belongs to our sponsoring church, AnchorageBaptistTemple. Approximately 70 church groups are represented by the remainder of the student body.
