The meeting was called to Order by Ald. Toellner at 7:56 p.m. with the following Roll Call:.

Item #2 - Approve the minutes of the May 19, 2014, meeting.
Motion by Ald. Schmidt, second by Ald. Hohmann to approve the minutes of May 19, 2014, meeting.
Motion carried unanimously.

Item #7 – Monthly Fire Department Report.
A. Personnel Report.
Currently at 30 firefighters. There are 5 openings. We do have two applicants to be interviewed next Monday. Brad commented on the need to eliminate the residency requirement for firefighters in Mayville.
Motion by Ald.Schmidt, second by Ald. Hohmann to eliminate that particular section of the hiring practices for the Fire Department and pass this on to the next Common Council meeting for a vote. Motion carried unanimously.
B. Training Report.
Three new members have completed Entry Level training, two have completed FF1 training and two have been Rapid Intervention Certified. Currently have 21 members that are Firefighter 1, 10 members that are Firefighter 2, 9 members that are driver/operator pumper, 4 that are driver/operator aerial, and 9 members with entry level training.
C. Apparatus Report.
Currently we are in line for the yearly truck maintenance at the end of June. In the process of doing all the hose testing on the trucks. Still have the station hose left to test. Received all of the turn out gear now that we needed to be compliant. Boat is in service for local calls and out of service for mutual aid calls. They had maintenance done on all their power tools.
D. Introduction of I am Responding.
This is a computer based mobile app. He has 2 TV's set up so when a fire call is received a button is hit and they can see who is responding. This costs roughly $30 per month. It also tells us what units are in service, all apparatus that is in service and also has hydrant mapping.
E. July 26th Picnic Information.
This is a picnic recognizing past firefighters, EMT's, police officers and council members.
F. Audit Results from Sue Birren-Fire Coordinator.
The audit was wonderful and everything went through very well. There is a couple of areas where there is room for improvement. She had some concerns with the 2% fire dues. This was a whole department audit. We have an ISO rating of a 3. We have lots of wants that is why we have fundraisers. We come to you for our needs.
Item #8 – Discuss/Review Proposed Outdoor Dining Ordinance.
We requested from our attorney language to be in compliance with the new section of the Outdoor Dining Ordinance - Suspension and Revocation of Permit. The time was changed to 7 a.m.-10 p.m., Sun.-Thurs., and 7 a.m.-11 p.m. on Friday & Saturday. Item K was removed. Item F was changed to November 1 and the permit fee cost to $100. Item N, #2 was changed to read must be secured when the restaurant is closed to the public.
Motion by Ald. Schmidt, second by Ald. Hohmann to move the proposed ordinance with the changes to the July 14th Common Council meeting. Motion carried unanimously.
