2017Social Justice Scholars Award
Guidelines and Registration Form
The 2nd Annual Social Justice Scholars Ceremony and Award will take place from 3p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 27,2017. Students who are working on social justice creative projects, doing research, or preparing scholarly papersare invited to showcase their work at the ceremony.
The deadline for symposium registrationand abstract submissionis 5:00 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017.
Submission Guidelines
The registration form and project abstract are to be submitted as a Word .doc or .docx document attached to an email y the deadline.
In the subject line of your email submission, please write “Social Justice Scholars Award Submission 2017”.
Photos may be included and should be submitted in .jpg or .png format. Any figures/photos should be inserted within the abstract space, not sent separately. The entire body of the abstract, including any figures, MUST fit within the box indicated on the abstract template.
Please use the following format (no exceptions):

Single spaced
Times New Roman 12 point font
36 line maximum
Include in your abstract:
Student name
Faculty mentor name
Department
Funding acknowledgements (if any)
Title of Project
Body of abstract
- Brief introduction to your research
- Materials and methods
- Results (data, pictures, performance, model, etc.)
- Brief discussion of your project in laymen’s terms
