2018 Placement Information
*Please note: Students are only allowed to complete 1 (one) placement
November 17th: Student Profiles Due
November 17th: Deadline for securing own placement. All documentation must be completed and submitted by this date.
January 12th: Resumes Due
Students submit 2 page (maximum) resume in MS Word or PDFformat to . ONLY use your Mohawk College email account on your resume; cover letters will NOT be part of process. Save resume as last name, first initial and resume (example: SmithJ_HRResume.docx OR SmithJ_HRResume.pdf)
January 12th: Employer Participation Forms due
January 15-19th: Placements posted on E-learn
January 26th: Students submit selection of 10employers through link at:
January 29th: Placement assistant downloadsand sorts students’employer selections and begins sending resumes to employers on January 31st

Placement Employer will contact student via telephone or e-mail to arrange for interviews; check yourMohawk College e-mail frequently. Once you’ve confirmed an interview, send an e-mail to -- Subject Header: Interview Confirmation
Between February 1st and March 2ndInterviews Conducted
Interviews are conducted at Employer’s location.Students do have one open day a week on their timetable, and Mohawk Collegerequires that you interview around the students’ timetables. Employer interviews will not interfere with classes or exams. Students are NOT permitted to miss class to attend a placement interview.
Offers Provided to Students MUST be released on March 5th(and NOT before) Employers release offers to students.
Employers offer the placement position directly to the student(s). This will allow employers to secure students sooner, and more accurately reflects the “real-world experience” of applying for and securing a job for students. Please contact the Placement Assistant once you confirm your student.Complete ALL offer releases on March 5th.Students have 48 hours to respond to their offers.
March 15th: Second round (if necessary) begins
April30-June 15th: Placement
All placement evaluation forms are due by June 15th
