Dear Mr.Smith,
Re: Freedom of Information Request Internal Review
Thank you for your email, received on 3rdNovember2013,in which you were unhappy with the decision made in relation to your FOI request and made the request for an internal review:
In response to your first answer could you be a bit more specific and state the whole range of courses that are made on professional judgement by the cafcass officer officer. So for example "Their are 20 courses available which are...... " Then list all courses and criteria that the parent needs to meet to attend each course, i.e convictions. Or "their are an infinite number of courses so it is impossible for us to list them all"
With regards to my question
"Under the freedom of information act could you tell me Where a CAFCASS officer has recommended "Further work" with a child. How long after making the recommendation would this "Work" begin to take place"
I completely refuse to accept that cafcass do not have a set time frame as to when "Further work" should take place. In effect you are saying that if "further work" is reccomended for a 3 year old it could take upto 13 years for the work to take place (where they reach an age when cafcass are no longer involved). Could you please confirm if cafcass would carry out said "Work" within the 13 years. If the answer is yes could you give an estimate as to how long until the "further work" starts. No date was ordered by the court, when the barrister asked if she (the cafcass officer) had begun this work yet the cafcass officer giggled and said they were understaffed.
as you have refused to tell me what lix pienaars qualifications are can you tell me the minimum qualifications required to be a cafcass officer under the freedom of information act
Please note: A Senior Officer who was not party to the original decision on whether to release the information will conduct the internal review. The internal reviewer will review the manner in which the application was dealt with and is empowered to either uphold or overturn the original decision.
This request was received on 3rdNovember 2013 and I will be dealing with it under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Cafcass is required to notify you as to the final decision made regarding your internal review. Cafcass aims to deal with internal reviews within 4 weeks of receiving the request. You will receive a response on or before the 2ndDecember 2013.
Yours sincerely,
Governance Team
