- Time:1 class hour prior to project week + 3 full days

- Introduction
The project week is directed to second year students of the High School of Domžale. The students involved will present their life – Home, School, and Community – bilingually (English and Italian), in the form of a 5-10 minute video, which addresses the following questions:
–Who they are (family and friends)
–Where they live (home, school, and community)
–What they do (school, free time, hobbies, sports, talents, etc.)
- Objectives
This project serves as an introduction for exchange students to create a platform for prior interaction to make all sides of the exchange more comfortable. The goal is for the Sicilian exchange students (1) to ''meet'' the students in Domžale, (2) understand what is important in their everyday lives, (3) and see where they are going. The project shows the nested lives students live, and the dynamic environment in which they learn.
- The students will learn how to present themselves and their place
- The students will learn about the town they live in and the school they go to
- The students will learn how to gather information and present it in a meaningful way
- The students will learn how to use new technology for presentations
- The students will learn how to critically analyze and choose the information they need
- The students will learn how to organize, communicate, and work as a team
- The students will learn how to write subtitles in a foreign language (Italian > English)
- Learning Achievements / Evidence of Outcomes
- The students will orally present their work on the last day of the project
- The students will produce a video presentation on the work done
- The students and audience will provide constructive feedback
- Grading
- Self-evaluation: of group work daily (based on 1–3 point system... but without explaining grading)
- Monitoring: teacher daily evaluation of student work and involvment (based on 1–3 point system)
- Follow-up (Sept./Oct. 2014)
- Next year the new 2nd year students will contribute to the exchange by writing letters to the exchange students introducing themselves in the same manner.
- Next year's 3rd year students, who participated in this project, will revisit the constructive feedback, add Italian subtitles to the English video sections, and edit their videos before sending to the Sicilian exchange students.
- 2 grades will be given– first for process in June, second for final product in September

–How will you present the information in the form of a video?
Write down your reflection (in English or Slovene), and be prepared to hand it in on Wednesday.
LESSON PLAN "Il mio mondo"
Introduction / To introduce the concept of the project week, including:
-the groups,
-the activities
-the schedule, and
-the final evaluation. / Week prior
(during class hour)
Introduction: (20 min.)
–The students listen to the introduction and the explanation on the project week.
–The students are divided into groups of two or three, comprised of 1 or 2English student(s) and 1 Italian student.
General brainstorming: (20 min.)
–They think what do they would like to know about another exchange student.
–What is interesting for an exchange student?
–How would you present yourself?
(This first part has really to be organized as a discussion. Every group presents it ideas, the others listen or even give a feedback. In the end they have to have very clear ideas on what, how and why.)
Wrap-up: (5 min.)
–Remind students what to bring to next class.
Homework:
–Reflect on the 3 questions and what is worth being presented. Keep this in mind through the weekend.

(8.20–13:30)
Introduction: (90 min.)
1. The teachers introduce the plan for the day and entertain questions. The goal of the project should be reinforced.
2. Teachers introduce YouTube [RE1]as a tool to montage videos. Outline instructions, and review the structure of a video.
3. In the first motivational phase, the students brainstorm their ideas and organize their work. They decide what are they going to present, they divide the tasks, and formulate a “plan of attack.” They decide how to organize their day.
Script: (45 min.)
Students write their scripts and have teacher proofread their English and Italian.
Field Work:
(2 hrs. 15 min.)
–In this phase the students are free to organize themselves as they prefer (notes, interviews, recordings, photos...)
–3+ locations = quality video
Wrap-up: (45 min.)
Discuss with students the activities, ideas, feelings, problems, solutions arose during the project. Keep in mind:
–What have I done?
–Did we have problems?
–How did we solve them?
–What is our plan for tomorrow?
Students should hand-in their self-evaluation slips.
Homework:
Record all other videos, gather photos, and bring all material to edit the video in class. SAVE ALL FILES. / Students Bring:

Introduction: (15 min.)
The teachers introduce the plan for the day and entertain questions.
Video & Design Workshop: (30 min.)
A video & design workshop with all students will be held to help them to compile the material they collected the previous day.
Work at school & Video editing:
(2 hrs. 30 min.)
In this phase the students organize their information, edit their videos. This second day is most about checking, editing, and maybe gathering the very last information.
Wrap-up: (45 min.)
Discuss with students the activities, ideas, feelings, problems, solutions arose during the project. Keep in mind:
–What have I done?
–Did we have problems?
–How did we solve them?
–What is our plan for tomorrow?
Students should hand-in their self-evaluation slips.

Introduction: (15 min.)
The teachers introduce the plan for the day and entertain questions.
Finalize Presentations: (60 min.)
–Teachers will review videos as they are and give last-minute suggestions.
–Students should review and export their videos as well as practice their presentations.
–Students should save their final video and all digital files used in a group folder to be uploaded to the teacher for “safe-keeping”.
Wrap-up: (15 min.)
Teachers will review the presentation format. Students will have an opportunity for last minute questions.
Presentations: (135 min.)
Presentations in front of 2.E’s teachers and 1st year Italian students, who will be involved in the International Exchange next year.
Feedback: (45 min.)
–Teachers, 1st year students, and classmates will offer constructive criticism and feedback of the videos.
Students should hand-in their self-evaluation slips.
Homework:
Record and photograph interesting parts of your life and town during the summer. (Vacations, family, friends, hobbies, etc.) / Students Bring:
