Catalog Description

A full semester experience during the senior year with half of the experience at the public elementary level and the remaining at the public secondary level, under the direction of a university supervisor and cooperating teacher. To be taken simultaneously with PED 4610.

N.B. In order to insure full class participation, every student with a disability or condition requiring special accommodations (e.g. tape recorder, special adaptive equipment, special note taking or test taking procedures) is strongly encouraged to contact the professor at the beginning of the course.

PED 4699 Student Teaching in Physical Education

  1. Course Objectives: Students will achieve growth toward becoming informed, dynamics professionals as evidenced by demonstration in knowledge, skills and disposition to teaching.

From a non-sexist, multi-cultural point of view, the student will:

  1. Demonstrate ability to use developmentally appropriate practices in planning, teaching and assessment (K/S/V)
  1. Create , plan and implement an integrated curriculum for students at the elementary and secondary levels (K/S/V)
