Directions: Use the research process to gather information about Shakespeare’s life and society. Gather information from at least three sources. Use Pages to create the final project.
Part One: Research Report
Cover
Create an interesting “book” cover for your Shakespeare’s biography.
1. Include the title of your report, your name the date of production.
2. Include a photograph that shows something important about Shakespeare and his society.
Shakespeare Report Contents
Your report should follow the format below.
Introduction
- Write a brief description of Shakespeare’s society and why Shakespeare is important.
The body paragraphs should include answers to the following questions.
- Why is Shakespeare important?
- What are the characteristics that helped make him famous?
- What are the defining events in the life of Shakespeare?
- What are Shakespeare’s major contributions to drama and literature?
- What part of Shakespeare’s life do you most admire and why?
Conclusion:
- Wrap up the body of the report. Write about the most important or interesting thing that you learned about Shakespeare. Explain.
Work Cited
- Includes all sources of information and photographs.
Part Two: Puppet and Oral Report
Puppet
Create a puppet that represents Shakespeare or a character from one of his plays or sonnets.
- Your puppet should be homemade using an assortment of craft materials. Be creative. Do not use any store bought toys.
- Have the puppet hold “ a prop” that represents your subject.
Oral report
Prepare a 3 – 5 minute oral report. The report may be a simple speech on the findings of your research or you may recite a poem or monologue written by Shakespeare.
- Speak in the first person.
- Use your puppet creatively.
- Be prepared to answer questions from the audience.
- Have fun!
