10.4.Research Reviews

The COE administration will host a semiannual review of the research completed and in progress. The Principal Investigator(s) of this research project must ensurethat their project results are included within a stand-alone or group briefing and participate in the semiannual research reviews. The semiannual review will include on-site meetings and briefings conducted by appropriate technical and administrative support personnel. The meeting will focus on the relevance, merit, direction, results, costs, and benefits of research and education efforts in the designated technology area(s), and include a discussion of potential future projects and plans.

The COE administration, in concert with the FAA and the university partner PIs and industry collaborators, will monitor the progress of the projects and proactively address emergent opportunities and challenges.

10.5.Annual Reports

The Principal Investigator will prepare and deliver anannual report to the ASCENT COE Program Manager. The Principal Investigator of this research project will also support the COE administration in providing data and information to be included in the annual reports for the FAA Centers of Excellence Program Director.

The annual report for the ASCENT COE Program Manager will include the following materials. Please note that many of these materials will already be input into the KSN:

  • Research results, benefits, and information dissemination efforts;
  • Significant events that were sponsored or attended by faculty and students; (this can be imported from RPPR on KSN)
  • Journal articles and conference proceedings published throughout the past year; (this can be imported from RPPR on KSN)
