The Wall Street Journal invites non-profit and for-profit enterprises to submit their best solutions for individuals and families struggling to be part of the financial mainstream in Asia-Pacific. Winners will be chosen by an independent panel of judges. The Challenge is part of a major editorial initiative by The Wall Street Journal to provide news and insights about the world’s more than two billion people who are largely excluded from basic financial services.

Applicants’ solutions must be innovative, sustainable, scalable and impactful, and help to increase access to financial programs, products and services for people who have not had access to them in the past. They should also have some intent on creating social impact in the region.

Judging criteria are set forth in the Official Rules:

Finalists and winners may be selected in the following areas: technology; education; and operational effectiveness.

Category Winners and People’s Choice Winner (as defined in the Official Rules)will be invited to attend an awards ceremony in Hong Kong. WSJ may, in its sole discretion, pay travel costs to attend the awards ceremony, as further described in the Official Rules. The Met Life Foundation (the “Foundation”) may, but is not required to, offer grants to one or more finalists who meet the Foundation’s legal requirements for grants, as further described in the Official Rules. Winners and finalists may be profiled on wsj.com, in WSJ’s sole discretion.

  1. Create a video proposal of no more than 2 minutes that showcaseshow your financial program, product or service has helped to solve problems affecting people’s wherewithal to join the financial mainstream in the Asia-Pacific region.

Export the file as an .mp4 with these settings:
