NOTORIOUS CHAIN SNATCHER ARRESTED.

With the arrest of Sanjeet @ Sunil S/o Sh. Rajbal R/o Vill. Khardomi, P.S. Incholi, Meerut U.P. age-24 years, the Spl.Staff of North-East District has recovered a country made weapon (desi katta) and a live cartridge .315 bore when the accused was in his way to commit crime in the area of Nand Nagari.

Time & incident

On 04.04.09 ASI Ravinder Dutt alongwith Constable Arvind, 821/NE and Constable Sanjeev,702/NE were on patrolling duty and were present at gate No.7, G.T.B. Hospital when secret information regarding a notorius chain snatcher waiting at the S.D.M. office, Nand Nagari for his associate was received to them. The information was shared with the senior officers and a trap was laid at SDM office Nand Nagri.Accused Sanjeet @ Sunil , who was riding a motor bike red colour Pulsar was apprehended and a country made weapon (desi katta) alongwith a live cartridge was recovered from his possession. Accordingly a case under Arms Act was registered at P.S. Nand Nagri.

Profile

Sanjeet is a desperate criminal who had remained involved in 25 cases of chain snatching, car jacking and N.D.P.S. Act. He involved himself in crime in the year 2001 when he murdered a person alongwith Khurbesh and Dinesh Giri who was killed in a police encounter. He was involved in cases of robbery, snatching, car jacking, murder and arms act of P.S. Nand Nagri, Seema Puri, Gokulpuri, Shahadra, Shakarpur and Anand Vihar. After completing his conviction term in robbery case, he was released from jail in October 2008, he again indulged in crime of snatching gold chain and mobile phones. As he wanted to settle score with rival group of snatchers and hence has procured the seized arm. The source of supply of country made weapon and live cartridge is being ascertained. He is a school dropped out and having two wives, one is residing at his native place while the other is a sister of notorious chain snatcher Gopal who is languishing in jail in a case of N.D.P.S..

SENSATIONAL DAY LIGHT MURDER CASE SOLVED- ONE ARRESTED

With the arrest of one accused Lalit Kumar Sharma @ Kallu S/o Sh. Pooja Ram R/o K-650, Gali Bhim, Chowk Gautam Vihar, Ghonda, Delhi-53 Age-22 yrs, North East Distt. Police has solved a day light murder case which was registered vide FIR No.104/09 dt 28-3-09 u/s 302/307/34 IPC & 25/27 Arms Act at PS New Usmanpur, Delhi.

INCIDENT

On 28.03.09 a call was received regarding firing of gun shots in Gali No.6, Jaiprakash Nagar. Local Police reached the spot and injured was taken to GTB Hospital who was identified as Bhura S/o Surender R/o H.No.184, Gali No.27, Som Bazar, Gamri Delhi. His wife Smt Poonam R/o H.No.184, Gali No.27, Som Bazar, Gamri Delhi reported that she was called by one Hari Kant on Mobile phone & told that her husband was with him & demandes 2 Lakh rupees & called her at J.P. Nagar where she reached. Hari Kant and two others had over-powered her husband while Hari Kant fired on her husband with Katta. Her husband got injured with bullet injuries. The complainant Smt. Poonam was also injured. Her husband Bhura was declared brought dead at GTB Hospital.

TEAM

A team comprising of Insp. Raj Kumar Khatana, SHO, Insp. Mussarrat Khan Insp. Investigation, ASI Subhash Chand No.2144/NE, HC Satya Pal No.206/NE, Ct Jagom No.1223/NE and Ct Pankaj No.819/NE under the supervision of Sh Data Ram ACP Seelam Pur, was constituted and sustained efforts were made to apprehend the culprits.

INVESTIGATION

During the course of investigation the deceased was identified as Bhura S/o Surender R/o H.No.184, Gali No.27, Som Bazar, Gamri Delhi. MLC was got prepared at GTB Hospital in which Doctor had opined alleged H/O firearm injury and patient was declared brought dead. The PM was conducted at GTB Hospital. Sustained questioning of the complainant Smt Poonam W/o Bhure (Deceased) had revealed that the deceased was shot dead by one Hari Kant with whom he had old enmity. Hari Kant was the complainant in case FIR No.155/06 Dt 3-5-06 U/s 307/34 IPC and 27-54-59 Arms Act. PS New Usmanpur, in which two accused persons namely 1. Bubby & 2. Bhura, the deceased had been arrested for the offence of attempt to murder. With this clue, a massive hunt was launched to apprehend the accused. It was revealed that there were four persons namely 1. Hari Kant, 2. Ram Pratap Parashar @ Deshi, 3. Lalit Sharma @ Kallu and 4. Raghav Pandit who were involved in this crime. A raiding party was also sent to Agra to arrest the accused persons at their native places but it was revealed that they were in Delhi only. After that, on secret information the accused Lalit Sharma @ Kallu was arrested on 5-4-09 from out side his house near Chowk Gautam Vihar, Delhi. He has disclosed that on 28-3-09 Hari Kant had called Smt. Poonam on her Mobile and demanded Rs two lacs at Gali No.6, Jaiprakash Nagar, if she wanted her husband Bhura alive who was in his custody. When Bhura struggled with them, he, Raghav Pandit, Ram Pratap @ Deshi and Hari Kant, all being present at the spot, beat him with fists and blows. Mean while Poonam also reached there. Then Bhura and his wife Poonam, both started fighting with Hari Kant. On this Hari Kant threatened to kill Bhura. He took out a gun from his possession and started firing on Bhura. Bhura fell down after sustaining bullet injuries. His wife Poonam was also injured. After that they all fled away from the spot. Investigation is on to trace the remaining accused persons and recover the weapon of offence. Other accused are on the run and special teams have been formed to nab them.

The accused Lalit Sharma @ Kallu has studied up to class 2nd and at present he is a TSR driver.

ORDER

It has been reported that large number of people gather and unauthorised vehicles are parked at Funnel Point/landing taking off area at NH-8, which may cause security risk for landing aircraft. While the people assemble at this point to have a glance of the landing aircraft, there are possibilities of miscreants mingling up with the general public in order to attack the landing aircraft which is at closer range from this point.

And whereas it is necessary to take speedy measures to this behalf to prevent danger to human life of safety and disturbance of public tranquillity and property.

Now, therefore, I, H.G.S. Dhaliwal, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South District, New Delhi in exercise of the powers vested to me under Section 30 (3) of Delhi Police Act, 1978 do, hereby, prohibit gathering/assembling of people/vender/vehicles at a stretch of 250 meters back and forth on both the sides of NH-8 falling across the funnel area of IGI Airport.

As the notice cannot be served individually on all concerned the order is, hereby, passed ex-parte. It shall be published for information of public through press and by affixing copies on the Notice Boards of the offices of all DCsP/Addl.DCsP/ACsP, Tehsil Offices, all Police Stations concerned and offices of the MCD.

Religious rallies/processions can be held with the prior permission in writing of Deputy Commissioner of Police, South District, New Delhi.

This order shall not apply to processions, which have the requisite permission of the police.

The above orders shall remain in force for a period of fifteen days from 03.04.2009 to 17.04.2009.

IN A MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH CAR USED IN THE MURDER OF JOURNALIST SOUMYA VISHWANATHAN RECOVERED –

NOTORIOUS AUTOLIFTER /RECEIVER AJAY SETHI ARRESTED

With the arrest of Ajay Sethi @ Chacha @ Malik age 44 years S/o Tara Chand R/o H. No. 1117 Sector-14 Faridabad, Haryana (permanent R/o 80 Kanwali Road Dehradun Uttranchal) ( 44 Years ) a History Sheeter of PS Kotwali Dehradun, the South District police in a major breakthrough has recovered Wagon-R Car used in commission of murder of TV journalist Soumya Vishwanathan.

INCIDENT

TV Journalist Soumya Vishwanathan was murdered in the night of 29 /30th September 2008, while she was returning home in her Zen Car from Headlines Today’s office Jhandewalan, Delhi. Four accused have already been arrested in this case and are presently on Police Custody Remand. The car used in this case by the assailants was disclosed to be sold to notorious receiver of stolen vehicle Ajay Sethi by the main accused Ravi Kapoor.

ARREST AND INTERROGATION

During the interrogation of prime accused Ravi Kapoor, it was revealed that accused Ajay Sethi generally comes at Crown Plaza Faridabad in a light golden colour Santro Car bearing fake number plate HR-18-C-2387. Keeping in view this information, a team comprising of Inspr Randhir Singh, Inspr. Jarnail Singh, SI Jai Parkash, SI OP Thakur, HCs Labh Singh, Devender, Subhash, Harjeet, Cts. Pradeep, Ajit, Surender, Ajay Tokas, Suresh, Yogender, Amit under the supervision of Sh K.S. Bhatnagar, ACP/Operations, launched a massive hunt for abovesaid Ajay Sethi in and around Faridabad. Ultimately, the team was able to spot him in Sector-14, Faridabad on 02.04.2009, but he managed to escape in his Santro car. The team continued its efforts and tracked him to Haridwar, Haryana and later on in Punjab. Finally, he was arrested from Badarpur Border in the above mentioned Santro car, which was found bearing fake number plate HR-18-C-2387. On verification, this car was found to be stolen from Lajpat Nagar area Vide FIR No. 712/06 U/S 379 IPC and original number of this car was found to be DL-3-CAP-4351.

Thereafter, Ajay Sethi led the team to the recovery of Wagon-R car bearing number plate HR-27-A-4783 from the parking of Sector-14 Market, Faridabad. On verification, it was found that this Wagon-R was found to be stolen from the area of PS Vasant Kunj vide FIR No. 475/08 Dated 26.09.2008 U/s 379 IPC and its original number was found to be MP-19-CA-0145. The car was found parked in a lonely spot and was parked in different areas at different times. It has been found that the side doors were gotten dented and painted and their colour is different from the original colour.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED

Accused Ajay Sethi was born in 1965 in Dehradun. He studied upto graduation in DAV College, Dehradun.He initially joined his father’s transport business but fell in bad company and in 1989 joined Gullu-Jabbar Gang and committed 9 house robberies and in 1990 was arrested by Dehradun Police. He was again arrested in 1993, 1998 and 2002.List of previous involvements attached. He has earned huge amout with his criminal activities and actively involved in criminal activities for two decades. He was staying in a palatial Bungalow in Faridabad at the time of his arrest.

Accused is being produced in Patiala House court today.

A GANG OF DESPERATE CARJACKERS BUSTED:

FIVE ARRESTED, THREE CARS RECOVERED TILL NOW

South District Police has arrested five members of a desperate gang of carjackers, who were involved in several cases of carjacking in Delhi and were involved in a series of serious incidents in Delhi and NCR. With their arrest, one Tata Indica, one Toyota Innova and one Maruti-800 car have been recovered.

INCIDENT & TEAM & ARREST

In the recent past, several carjacking cases were reported all over Delhi and NCR. In order to prevent these incidents and nab the criminals involved in these cases, several teams were constituted. A joint team of Special Staff, South District and PS Meharuli consisting of SIs Sanjeev Kumar, Jeet Singh, Surinder Dahiya, Balbir Maan, ASIs Ravi Shanker, Tulsi Ram, HCs Shyamvir Singh, Sheo Ram, Bhoop Singh, Rajesh, Vijay Kumar, Bir Singh, Shiv Kumar, Rajinder, Satish, Shailesh, Vinod, Kailash, Rakesh Cts. Raghubir, Virendar Nagar, Vishwajeet, Ashok Kumar, Subash, Shailender, Mahender, Vijay and Vikas, Sajjan Kumar and Anil under the supervision of Inspector Vijay Singh, I/C Special Staff and overall supervision of Sh K.S.Bhatnagar ACP/Operations was formed to further develop the information and apprehend the accused. The team worked relentlessly and collected details of several criminals with similar modus- operandi and particular area of operation as most of cars were robbed during night on and near M.G. road. These details were analysed minutely and it came to fore that gang of Sri Kishan might be involved in these incidents of carjacking. It also came to notice that Sri Kishan is presently lodged in Tihar Jail, but two of his associates namely Jai Pal and Vikram @ FM recently came out from jail on bail. Secret informers were deployed to collect the information about the activities of above said criminals. The hard work of above team bore results and specific information was received on 04.04.2009 that members of Sri Kishan gang would go towards Gurgaon via M.G.Road for disposal of vehicle.

The team laid a trap on 04.04.2009 at Chattarpur T-Point near Aggarwal Sweet corner on M.G. Road and started checking of vehicles coming from Mehrauli side by putting barricades on the road. At around 11.00 P.M., a red colour Tata Indica car coming from Mehrauli side was signalled to stop. The driver of car instead of stopping, tried to drive away but he was overpowered by putting barricades in front of the car. The driver of the car was identified as Jai Pal s/o Babu Lal. He was asked to produce the documents of the vehicle, but he was unable to produce any document. On checking, the vehicles was found robbed vide FIR no. 159/09 u/s 327/379 IPC PS Mehrauli Delhi. Other four people sitting in the car were identified as Ram Parkash, Vikram Singh @ FM, Dinesh @ Pandit and Neeraj Yadav @ Sonu. All the accused were arrested and their interrogation taken up.

INTERROGATION & PROFILE

During the interrogation, it was revealed that Jai Pal and Vikram Singh @ FM are close associates of Sri Kishan and they were arrested first time in the year 2007 in a carjacking case with Sri Kishan vide FIR no. 1186/07 u/s 392/34 IPC PS Malviya Nagar Delhi. After release on bail, they became more desperate and again started carjackings. They were again arrested on 31.12.2008 in case FIR no 633/08 u/s 327/379/34 IPC PS Meharuli Delhi. Jai Pal and Vikram came out from jail and reorganized their gang and started committing same crime. Their main area of operation was M.G. Road and they mainly targeted the car in which driver was alone. They used to ask for a lift and thereafter overpower the driver in a lonely place and threw him inside the jungle after tying his hand and legs with the helps of seat belt or driver’s clothes. They used to dispose off the vehicles through Sunil @ Kale R/O Harizan Basti, Fatehpur Asola, Delhi, a notorious autolifter and previously arrested several times by the district police and crime branch.
