The british council Erasmus Student Essay Competition 2010

The British Council is holding its annual Erasmus Essay Competition for returning Erasmus students from the academic year 2009/10. This is an opportunity for all Erasmus students to receive recognition from University of Warwickand the British Council for their time abroad. All winning essays will be used in future University of Warwick and British Council publicity material, in the press and on the website. The top three overall student winners will be invited to attend a prize event at the British Council headquarters in London on November 12 to accept their awards and prizes.

Students are asked to submit an essay of between 900 and 1500 words, entitled:

erasMUST!

Why more students should take part

It is suggested you write the essay as if you were convincing future students to take part in Erasmus, explaining how you benefited from taking part and what you enjoyed about it. Consider the things that convinced you to take part as well as those things that you hadn’t expected, which you believe need to be highlighted to future students. Consider also what objections some students might have to taking part and convince them otherwise!

Your essay should be inspiring, honest and personal and help to promote the programme to future students.

Please complete the attached form and return with your essay, in Microsoft Word format to Amanda Ashby, Erasmus Programme Manager, () The International Office by the deadline (1st October 2010). One essay will be selected by the University of Warwick and submitted to the British Council for entry to the national competition and the chance to win one of three top prizes and coverage in British Council promotional brochures, press and websites.

By entering this competition you permit The University of Warwick and the British Council to use the content and your name for promotional purposes, in any media, including, but not limited to, print, web and press.
