WITI 2008 Leadership Award “Women Shaping the Future”
As a member of the WITI Community and in support of our 2008 Women & Technology Summit, we ask that each of you reach out to your professional networks and help get the word out regarding our search for nominations for our prestigious WITI Leadership Award for 2008, “Women Shaping the Future”. WITI will award and recognize a woman leader who has been influential and empowering in the development of supportive and innovative environments for building future women leaders.
Nominations are due July 15th, 2008, so please help us get the word out now.
Information regarding the award criteria and submission requirements are attached and can also be found on our website at http://www.witi.com/center/conferences/2008/siliconvalley.
In submitting a nomination for this award relevant information needs to be provided based on the award selection criteria in order for the independent judges to evaluate and make their selection for the award recipient.
Criteria
Nominees must have demonstrated how they have been influential, effective or empowering in the development of supportive and innovative environments for future women leaders Award criteria should consist of some of these demonstrated leadership characteristics:
1. Authentic / Integrity
2. Inclusive / Supportive
3. Courageous / Passionate
4. Mentoring / Guiding
5. Innovative / Trail Blazer
6. Inspirational / Motivational
The judges are making their decisions based only on the information included in the submissions given them. The information you provide will be incorporated into the description given about the nominee at the award ceremony, so we rely on you to submit accurate and relevant information.
If your candidate is selected, the information you provide may also be used in promotional materials.
Avoid lengthy descriptions about the company or organization a candidate works for unless that information ties in to the candidates’ criteria in some way. The judges are discouraged from making their decisions based on their feelings about the organizations of the candidates.
Letters of recommendation are not required but are accepted, influential and may help your candidate in the selection process.
The submission deadline this award is July 15th, 2008
Nominees must be personally available to accept the WITI 2008 Leadership Award - no exceptions.

Criteria & Required Questions

Leadership recipients include women who have made outstanding contributions based on one or more of the following criteria:
· Demonstrated courage, integrity and resiliency in the face of challenges towards breaking down barriers in support of the advancement of women leaders.
· An inspirational and supportive leader who has leveraged technology resulting in significant contributions
· A trail blazer who has made a significant impact by the delivery of innovative methods and improvements to her organization.
· Mentored and empowered other women in the development of their leadership capabilities.
· Demonstrated commitment to service, inclusion and support of others in making a difference.
Based on the above recipient criteria, please completely answer all of the following questions.
