Bristol International Balloon Fiesta launches First ‘Balloon Shuttle’

The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta has formed a travel partnership with First in West of England to create a quick and easy way for travellers across the region to get to the event at Ashton Court 8th - 11th August.

The Balloon Shuttle bus runs every 10 minutes across the four days from bus stops that will be specially marked, located at Temple Meads and throughout the city centre, with prices starting from £2.50 for adult single fares (£2 child single). Fiesta goers travelling from outside of Bristol will also benefit from an exclusive all day balloon pass valid on most First bus services across the South West, including the Balloon Shuttle. This ticket will cost just £7, or £15 for a family pass.

Simon Ford, Commercial Manager for First in West of England commented;

“The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta is one of the region’s best loved events, with hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. We want to be able to offer all those in the South West the option of affordable, hassle free transport and are delighted to have worked closely with Richmond Event Management, the event organisers, to launch the First fiesta Balloon Shuttle.”

Ben Hardy, Senior Project Manager for The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta explained;

“The Balloon Shuttle offers a great alternative for people travelling to the event and with affordable prices across the South West, it’s the perfect way to get to the site. We are encouraging people to arrive early to make a day of their trip to the fiesta, and see special features such as the Red Arrows at 3.30pm on the Friday and the Breitling Wingwalkers at 12 and 5pm on Saturday.”

This year the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta has a great programme of live music, air displays and entertainment to keep the whole family entertained in-between the morning and evening mass ascents. Thursday 8th and Saturday 10th night sees the famous Nightglows followed by a fabulous fireworks finale.
