Netstal at the Brau in Nuremberg

More efficient production of a packaging closure

At this year's Brau exhibition in Nuremberg (9 - 11 November 2011) Netstal demonstrates its competence with a more efficient production of a beverage cap type PCO 1881. Apart from this the visitors to the stand get latest and detailed information on Netstal's strengths in the field of packaging, where it draws from vast know-how and long experience and offers a range of first-class equipment.

Demonstration of material saving and process efficiency

„Netstal system solutions in the area of packaging have been synonymous with high output and excellent reproduction for many years. At the Brau we present the production of a high-grade closure on an ELION 2800 moulding machine equipped with the new hybrid-drive technology to show our clients how caps can be made yet more efficiently in future“, explains Markus DalPian, Manager of Netstal's Business Unit CAP. At the fair the beverage closures PCO 1881 are moulded at a cycle of 3.5 seconds using a 72-imp. mould made by Messrs Z-Mold and the optical quality control of the Intravis company. The hybrid ELION 2800 relies on Netstal's new aXos control with enhanced operating panel and numerous novel features.

This is Netstal's answer to the ever stronger call from customers for material savings, higher process efficiency and lower production costs. With the markedly reduced cap weight it becomes clear how the use of a high-grade moulding machine paired with efficient processes leads to an economically more efficient production, a.o. a saving of several thousand tons of raw material per year (across the entire market). The fact that, since its introduction in 2008, the weight of the PCO 1881 cap has been reduced from originally 2.45 grams to 2.3g for CSD (Carbonated Soft Drinks) and as little as 1.8g for still waters reflects Netstal's solid know-how in this field.
