New Building and Material Science Innovations from DuPont Featured
at 2016 International Builders Show in Las Vegas
Innovations Supported by Bold New Global Brand Campaign for DuPont™ Tyvek®
WILMINGTON, Del., Jan. 14, 2016 – In addition to introducing new weatherization solutions, DuPont Protection Solutions also will launch the new DuPont™ Tyvek® brand platform, For Greater Good™ at the International Builders Show in Las Vegas, Nev., on Jan. 19.

Tyvek® is an advanced material synonymous with strength, durability and protection in extreme conditions and is used in a wide array of protective applications, including building wraps and weatherization products, medical packaging, protective apparel and cargo covers. Tyvek® building wraps and weatherization products have been used to protect millions of homes and commercial structures for nearly 40 years.

In keeping with this brand promise, the DuPont booth will showcase new DuPont™ Tyvek® demonstration walls featuring DuPont™ Flashing Systems products and new installation details for flashing recessed windows. The combination of DuPont™ Flashing Systems products and these new flashing details offers builders a new high-performance solution for water penetration at vulnerable window corners.
Also, DuPont and Owens Corning will announce a collaboration in which the two building science leaders will work together to provide tested wall solutions that help reduce the risk of compatibility issues while providing superior water, air and thermal management. These walls are constructed using traditional, readily available products and trades. The high-performance wall solutions will be supported by a single call center and a limited 10-year product and labor warranty.
Featured in the DuPont booth will be a new wall assembly that is the result of a collaboration by DuPont, Owens Corning and Home Innovations Research Laboratory (HIRL). This new wall system, known as the Extended Plate and Beam (EPB) features innovative framing techniques and uses the Owens Corning exterior rigid foam coupled with DuPont ™ Tyvek® HomeWrap® weatherization products. The EPB wall assembly will deliver outstanding air, water and thermal management and an R-value of 23. This wall assembly is ideal for builders striving to provide customers with the highest level of energy efficiency.
