WPS Graphic Panels

Part 1- General

1.1ItemGeneral:

Graphic wall panels for decorative and informational usage.

  1. Trim and accessories for attaching wall panels, including fastenings, accessory features, connections to the building structure, and other items not mentioned specifically herein, and which are necessary to make a complete installation.

1.2Qualifications:

  1. All materials unless otherwiseindicated are to be WPS Graphic wall panels.
  1. Work Quality: All work of this Section to be manufactured and constructed, assembled and installed by skilled craft persons in finish carpentry. All such work to be accurately fabricated, assembled, joined and expertly finished in accordance with measurements taken on the job-site.
  1. Defective Work: All work, work not true to line, not in satisfactory operating condition, improperly installed, damaged or marred will not be accepted. Remedy, remove or replace defective work as directed by the Architect.

1.3Environmental Conditions:

Building should be fully enclosed prior toinstallation with sufficientheat(70°)and ventilation consistent with goodworking conditions for finish work.

1.4Delivery and Storage of Product:

All materials aretobestoredlyingflat, under cover and protected fromtheelements.Panelsshouldbeallowedto acclimate to roomtemperature(70°) for 48 hourspriorto installation.

1.5Warranty

All products shall be warrantedtobefreefromdefectsforaperiodof1yearafterdelivery.

Part 2 – Products

2.1Manufacturer:

Part 2.2–EXECUTION

2.3Installation

  1. Install panels and fixing system as per WPS engineering approved shop drawings and trim system.
  1. Install aluminum sub-frame to support the “Z” clip sub-frame assembly.
  1. Maximum fixing distances:
  2. 2 fixing points in one direction using:
  3. 8 mm panel is 27”.
  4. 10 mm panel is 33”.
  5. 3 or more fixing points in one direction:
  6. 8 mm panel is 31”
  7. 10mm panel is 37”.
  1. The installation of the panel clip system shall be true and plumb.
  1. Face of the panels are to sit out from the face of the wall ¾” for solid phenolic and 1 1/8” for plastic laminate +/- shimming as required.
  1. Installed graphic panels shall have vertical joints with splines routed directly in the center of the panel edge to ensure that all four intersecting panels are kept in the same plane.
  1. WPS engineering shop drawings must be review and approved by the architect. All graphic panels shall be label and fabricated ready for installation prior to deliver to the jobsite and cuts to final wall size dimensions and conditions.

2.4Submittals

  1. Submit in accordance with Division 1 Submittal Procedures.
  1. Submit one samples, 18”x 18”, of graphic in color, finish and texture of solid phenolic or plastic laminate.

3.1EXAMINATION

A.Open cartons and carefully inspect all panels.

B.Contact WPS with questions or problems

3.2PREPARATION

A.Graphicspanelsshouldbe protected by covering or other means afterinstallation untilall phases ofconstruction are completed.

3.04CareandCleaning

Although graphic panels are manufactured withadurable chemical resistantfinishesand/or coatings, test proposed cleaners firstininconspicuousarea.Mostcleaning shouldonlyinvolveremovalofdustwitha dampcloth or warm soapy water for removalof dirt and/or grime.

Things to avoid when cleaning

•Avoid abrasives

•Cleaners with harsh stain removalchemicals.
