Job Description: Fundraising Manager
Reports to: Chief Executive
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: £33 – 35,000
Holiday entitlement: 22 days plus public holidays, there are 3 additional discretionary days given between Christmas and New Year
Place of work: 43A Little Mount Sion, Tunbridge Wells, TN1 1YP
Job Purpose: The Fundraising Manager is responsible for identifying and maximising all income generating opportunities for Tree of Hope and its beneficiaries and meeting budgeted targets
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Strategic planning, monitoring and reporting
· Continue to develop the long-term fundraising strategy, working closely with the Chief Executive, to maximise its effectiveness
· Monitor fundraising activities, outcomes and return on investment and regularly report results against income and expenditure targets
2. Trusts and Foundations
· Regularly review the prospect list of grant-makers whose giving criteria are met by the charity
· Plan and execute a timetable of grant applications, making best use of any known contacts within the trusts and foundations concerned
· Build and maintain a strong relationship with donating trusts, and provide any funding reports they may require, to facilitate ongoing support
3. Corporate
· Using the existing collective commercial contacts of the charity, and other sources, continue to develop corporate partnerships on a local, regional and national basis for both funding and gifts in kind
· Secure Charity of the Year status wherever possible
4. Individuals
· Prepare, approach and convert a list of potential Major Donors
· Continue to develop and improve the plans for regular giving and legacy pledges
5. Community & Events
· Inspire and support voluntary community fundraisers working on behalf of the charity
· Create a network of Community Groups conducting their own complementary fundraising activities
· Continue to develop selective fundraising events to raise the charity’s profile and goodwill
6. Tree of Hope families’ campaigns
· Work closely with the Family Liaison team to support families in their fundraising efforts to achieve the optimum results
7. General
· Maximise the potential of all current and prospective income streams in the most cost-effective way
· Raise awareness of the charity on a local, regional and national basis
· Develop and drive new and imaginative fundraising activity
· Contribute positively to the management team and the effective running of the charity
· Ensure all fundraising activity is compliant with Tree of Hope’s policies and procedures and all applicable regulatory legislation and guidelines including Fundraising Regulator and IOF best practice guidelines
Please note: this role is in addition to our current fundraiser who is taking maternity leave. When she returns we will look at both roles and ascertain the best way to use both fundraisers to maximise our unrestricted income.
