GCSE Geography
Dear Parents/ Guardians,
I am writing to you to inform you of your child’s GCSE Geography course and the expectations over the next two years.
What units make up my child’s GCSE course?
We will be following the AQA A Geography GCSE course. This comprises of three units: Physical Geography, Human Geography and the Controlled Assessment. Please see the attached big picture for the topics and when they will be studied throughout this two-year course.
I have also attached a weekly breakdown of how your child’s year 10 will be split, which has been shared with students.
How can I support my child throughout their GCSE Geography course?
- Please encourage your child to be organised and up to date with their home learning.
- Encourage your child to read around the topics that we are studying e.g. newspapers, internet research, and their class notes.
- Buy the following revision guide and/or complementary workbook: http://www.amazon.co.uk/GCSE-Geography-AQA-Revision-Guide/dp/1847623786
