I would like your approval for me to apply to be on the Young Auto Care Network Group (YANG) Advisory Council for a two-year term beginning on July 1, 2018.
YANG provides young auto care professionals in their twenties and thirties the opportunity to network with industry peers, enhance knowledge, and improve leadership capabilities. I find great value in being a member of YANG, but I want to take it a step further and have a direct impact on the value we provide our members, sponsors, and industry.
If I am elected to the Advisory Council, most of my work will be accomplished through e-mail and monthly conference calls, as well as three in-person meetings annually; two of these meetings occur during Auto Care Association Spring and Fall Leadership Days. The third meeting is typically on-site at Auto Care Association headquarters in Bethesda, MD.
As a Council member, I will develop leadership skills and other aspects of running a sound team from the business side (program ROI, the connection between sponsorship programs and org revenue, budgeting for/costs of developing initiatives, how to get an organization’s commitment of internal resources, etc.) to the marketing side (techniques for recruitment, awareness tactics, community loyalty building programs), and much more.
