Condoms, Lube, and Dental Dams Distributed to Oregon Students
At the Oregon Department of Education and Oregon Health Authority endorsed 2014 annual Oregon Adolescent Sexuality Conference, held in Seaside Oregon, free condoms, lubricants and buttons were made available to all attendees. Approximately 1/3 of participants were middle and high school students.

The Steering Committee for this 2014 Adolescent Sexuality Conference: "Building Blocks of Youth Sexual Health" includes:

The workshop titled, “No Glove, No Love: Condomology 411”, included instruction on how to make an economical dental dam from a female condom.

When used consistently and correctly, latex condoms are 98% effective in preventing unintended pregnancy and are the only contraception that helps prevent against STIs. By normalizing healthy decision making, encouraging conversations with parents and partners, practicing negotiation skills, and learning correct steps of condom use, people can learn how to prevent STIs and unintended pregnancies. Learning these comprehensive skills are the building blocks of youth sexual health. Participants will learn about condom history and manufacturing, followed by rotating groups practicing the skills below:
· Condom line-ups
· Condom demos (wooden model)
· Role plays to practice negotiation skills
· Lubrication information
· Consumer reports testing
· Safer Oral Sex practices (ex: dental dams)
