We’re #1-At the recent Illinois Moose Association conference in St. Louis Missouri, MH lodge 2655 was awarded with two impressive awards. First, we came home with the Illini Star trophy for the lodge with the highest amount per capita in donations to the endowment fund. Second, we came home with the Illini Star trophy for ILLINOIS LODGE OF THE YEAR!! It is because of all of our hard work and effort volunteering at the homeless shelter, donating to the endowment fund, being a platinum level lodge, signing new members and fundraising for the lodge.
Fundraisers-Thank s to all that have volunteered to help with the recent fundraisers for the lodge. Your efforts are helping us to give more to the Mooseheart Endowment fund. T-Shirts designed by the children at Mooseheart and raffle tickets for lodging for one week in the Ozarks are on sale. Feel free to contact an officer if you would like to purchase either. Your support helps our Mooseheart youth tremendously!!
Sponsor Children-Our service center sponsors children at Mooseheart and we will be looking to send them cards for their birthdays and at Christmas. Our sponsor children are: Brea, Raven, Tevyn, Marquise, Shannon, Gabriel, Oscar and Stefanie. We would like to have a Christmas get together with them after our meeting on December 8th. We hope that you can attend!
Family Activities-Come and spend time with your fellow brothers and support the incredible 5-2 (as of 10/10/09) Mooseheart Football team by attending home and away games. We will try to get seats together to watch the games (see calendar below).
Community Service-We will be hosting a walk for Special Olympics and the MH endowment on 11/5/09 at 5pm in front of the Supreme Lodge. Come join us to help these causes.
Membership-Membership Challenge!! Continue to support the Mooseheart Service Center by sponsoring new Moose members. So far we have been doing well, but we know we can do better (30 new members as of this newsletter). Our Women of the Moose Chapter have challenged us to sign more members that they will this year. Although our membership quota is only 33 for the year, we would like to greatly exceed this number and win this competition.
