  1. NATIONAL SENIORS ENTRIES DUE THIS WEEK!

Coaches – National seniors’ entries are due to me by this Wednesday evening…NO EXCEPTIONS. Entries are expensive and should not be taken lightly. Athletes who have achieved entry standard this season will have their entry fees covered by the club. Please check the National Qualifier List below to ensure that you performance has been captured correctly. If I am missing a performance, please email it to me now along with the name of the meet, date of the meet, and a link to the result. Meet Open has two age classes:

How Legions Work:A great program and one YUTC recommends -The best 40 athletes will advance to Provincial Legions on July 10/11 in Hamilton. The best 40 athletes from Provincials Legions will then advance to National Legions in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Aug 7 to 13th. Those qualifying for Nationals from the provincial meet will have all their expenses paid for by the Royal Canadian Legion. National Legions, also doubles for Canadian National Youth Championships. Youth aged athletes who do not qualify through the provincial championships, may still qualify through achieve national qualifying performance entry standards. Athletes qualifying for Youth Nationals in this manner will be attending the meet as a “self funded” athlete. Athletes will not receive funding from either Royal Canadian Legion or YUTC. In 2008, we had 2 athletes make the provincial team that went to nationals, 3 other YUTC athletes qualified through achieving the performance standard and went on their own expense.
