Salary range - $31,000 - $36,000 depending upon experience

General Description

1.Manage and oversee the Volunteer Program to meet the needs of the affiliate, including the recruitment and retention of new and current volunteers.

2.Respond to inquiries regarding volunteer opportunities from individuals and groups in a timely, professional manner.

3.Interview interested volunteers to determine skill sets and interests in order to match with the most appropriate and sustainable volunteer opportunity. Direct interested, matched volunteers to appropriate staff members as needed.

4.Manage the volunteer schedule for construction, retail stores (ReStores), and additional affiliate needs including affiliate committees, special events, and projects.

5.Maintain the online Volunteer database system (Volunteer Hub experience preferred) for the scheduling of volunteers, including tracking hours and updating contact information. Maintain and update this database with volunteer group’s(military, church, business liaisons, corporate, etc.) information to track the status of projects, cultivation efforts, and conversations with each organization.

6.Collaborate in the design of a volunteer retention plan to include orientation, proper training,ongoing communication, appreciation, policies and procedures manual, and evaluation of volunteer experiences.

7.Develop, implement and execute a Volunteer Recognition Program, including special events, thank-you letters, and certificates of appreciation to increase volunteer retention.

8.Work with the Director of Construction,site supervisors and other staff to track volunteer attendance, participation, and overall experience on job sites and at other volunteer venues. Occasionally requiresconstruction and ReStore site visits.

9.Promote the Team Building program, contacting corporations to financially support this program. Provide additional support to development efforts to cultivate monetary donations from volunteers and volunteer groups

10.Represent Habitat SHR at special events, volunteer/agency fairs, meetings, and present to civic and other groups of potential volunteers to build awareness of Habitat SHR’s mission and how Habitat SHR can assist businesses, faith communities, and community organizations achieve their mission and community service goals.

11.Partner with marketing consultants to publicize the Volunteer Program and volunteer experience, to include but not limited to articlesin newsletters and other affiliate communications.

12.Assist the Family Services Director with assignment and documentation of family sweat equity requirements.

13.Administrative and other duties as assigned by the Director of Constructionand the Executive Director.

Qualifications

  • Must possess excellent administrative, computer, project management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success working in a team environment as well as flexibility, integrity, creativity, and mature judgment.
  • Positive, outgoing personality with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with volunteers, community groups, as well as Habitat SHR affiliate staff.
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
  • Must possess Microsoft Office experience.
  • Experience working with and managing both individuals and large groups of volunteers.
  • Some scheduled Saturday work required as well as occasional evening/after-hours meetings with volunteer groups.
  • Interest in supporting low-income family housing needs.
  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience preferred.
  • Driver’s License and reliable transportation required.
