This role sits in the Supporter Relations team within Oxfam New Zealand’s (ONZ) Engagement Directorate. The Engagement Directorate’s role is to engage, educate and publicise the work of Oxfam within New Zealand and raise vital public funds for our advocacy, humanitarian and development work.

The Supporter Relations team has the primary responsibility for supporter outreach, recruitment, retention and administration. The Face to Face Fundraising Team supports this by holding conversations with the New Zealand public, letting them know about Oxfam’s work, and inspiring them to support us by becoming regular monthly donors.

JOB PURPOSE

Be responsible for leading a high performing team of F2F Fundraisers who inspire members of the public to become regular givers by effectively managing their performance, on site coaching, motivation and support.

Play a central role in informing, inspiring and mobilising New Zealanders to support Oxfam’s work and expand our financial supporter base by recruiting new regular givers through face to face dialogue.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.  Supervise a team of F2F Fundraisers and support them to attract individual donors by:

·  Assisting with their induction and providing ongoing onsite training and coaching,

·  Providing expertise in F2F fundraising techniques, objection handing, codes of conduct and day to day operations,

·  Ensuring team members are familiar with and can use appropriate fundraising techniques,

·  Keeping the team motivated and ensure that they behave in a disciplined manner,

·  Quickly identifying and reporting disciplinary issues/ other events that may implicate the organisation or the well-being of team members, to the Senior F2F Fundraising Coordinator,

·  Helping ONZ to retain F2F fundraisers by developing their skills and supporting those with potential to move on to the team leader role, or other suitable roles within Oxfam,

2.  Maintain an understanding of Oxfam’s programmes, campaigns and causes, to be able to talk convincingly to potential supporters about the organisation’s work and ensure team members can do the same. This includes keeping up to date with projects and news that affects the team, participating in training, talking with relevant Oxfam staff, undertaking individual research, etc.

3.  Be responsible for achieving personal and team’s daily/ weekly targets, in accordance with agreed Key Performance indicators (KPIs). This includes setting targets for individual team members and managing their performance with the support of the Senior F2F Coordinator, and meeting personal fundraising targets.

4.  Provide regular updates to the F2F Fundraising Coordinator i.e. at least twice per day.

5.  Ensure the effective and accurate administration and processing of personal and team sign ups.

6.  Be accountable for and ensure team members take responsibility for any Oxfam equipment that is entrusted to their care.

7.  Work together cooperatively with and support other F2F team leaders and fundraisers.

8.  Represent and also ensure that team members represent Oxfam in the public sphere in a positive and inspiring manner.

9.  Adhere to the Public Fundraising and Regulatory Association’s (PFRA) and Oxfam’s Code of Conduct at all times.

10.  Assist with other fundraising or campaigning activities as directed by the Senior F2F Fundraising Coordinator or Supporter Relations Manager.

11.  Assist with organising travel arrangements and the booking of venues for F2F fundraising activities as required.

12.  Actively participate in relevant team-building, group, or ONZ-wide activities or meetings.

13.  Undertake any other tasks that may be delegated by the Senior F2F Fundraising Coordinator that are in keeping with the scope of the role.

·  Proven success in face to face fundraising while other sales/ fundraising experience is useful

·  Experience of supporting and supervising others

·  Ability to both lead and work collaboratively within a team

·  Training experience and the ability to transfer skills to others

·  Excellent communication skills, creativity and the ability to develop new ways to inspire people about what Oxfam does

TIME OFF IN LIEU (TOIL)

Out of hours or weekend working may be required from time to time for which appropriate time off in lieu (TOIL) will be awarded in accordance with ONZ’s TOIL policy.

TRAVEL

The F2F Team Leader will be required to travel from time to time within New Zealand to fulfil the requirements of the role.
