Thank you for your interest in the Senior Events Coordinator Position. Attached you will find all the information necessary for you to make an informed decision on whether or not to apply. Please read through the materials carefully and apply only if you are serious about making the commitment to this position.

A current resume is also recommended, but not required. Please return your completed application by Monday, September 17 at 5:00 pm in the Student Activities Office (110 Campus Center). Interviews will be held during that week, between September 18 and September 21 and a member of the Senior Events Coordinator Selection Committee will contact you to set up a time.

Senior Events Coordinator – General Information

Job Description – Senior Events Coordinator

Manage, coordinate, and execute the logistical details of over fifteen events during Senior Week. Supervise a staff of up to 30 volunteers who assist in set-ups, clean-ups, security, ushering, etc. Attend weekly planning meetings, various training sessions, and any other meeting regarding Senior Week. Effectively communicate timely information to the Senior Class and serve as on-site event supervisors for assigned Senior Week events. Senior Events Coordinators report directly to the Assistant Director of Student Activities and to the Executive Board of the Senior Class Council. Qualified persons for this position will need to exhibit excellent organizational and communication skills; and be exceptional stress, time, and conflict managers.

General Duties:

1.  Attend and participate in all meetings related to Senior Week 2008.

2.  Attend and manage Senior Pub Nights throughout the year.

3.  Manage, coordinate, and execute the logistical details for assigned Senior Week events.

4.  Supervise all assigned Senior Week events from Friday, May 9 through Sunday, May 18, 2008.

5.  Assist other Senior Events Coordinators as needed.

6.  Assist in the coordination of Senior Week Volunteer training and schedule and supervise volunteers for each of your assigned events.

7.  Communicate all planning progress to the Senior Class Council, Senior Leadership Council, and the Office of Student Activities on a weekly basis.

8.  Be present for the duration of all Senior Week related events, making sure that all necessary clean up work is completed.

9.  Be on-call 24 hours a day during Senior Week (Friday, May 9 through Sunday, May 18, 2008) in case of emergency. Also, Coordinators must provide a list of contact numbers where they can be reached.

10.  Enforce all Tufts University policies at each Senior Week event as described by the Student Activities Staff and as listed in the 2007-2008 Pachyderm.

11.  Attend to any last minute details with facility contacts for the event to which each is assigned.

12.  Not to consume alcohol at any Senior Week event. Coordinators are not to allow any volunteer to consume alcohol while working during the events. Violation of this policy is immediate grounds for dismissal.

13.  Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Student Activities.

Terms and conditions:

1.  This agreement is for work:

c.  January 18 through May 18, 2008

2.  Total stipend for completed agreement will equal $1300.

3.  Coordinators will receive their stipend immediately following commencement, contingent upon proper completion of this agreement.

4.  During Senior Week, Coordinators will receive free meals as well as free housing, if they live on campus.
