Algodon Club 2009 Scholarship.

Graduating seniors that plan to pursue a career in an Agriculture-related field. Application must be postmarked no later than March 2, 2009. Please see the message board (A-Hall next to the Go Center).

Tech Prep of the Rio Grande Valley – Dr. Lauro F. Cavazos Tech Prep Scholarships

Criteria: Must be a Tech Prep Texas Scholar

$5,000.00 scholarship to any college or University

$4,000.00 scholarship for Texas State Technical College Harlingen

$3,000.00 scholarship for the University of Texas at Brownsville

$1,000.00 scholarship from United Launch Alliance to a student majoring in engineering (or two-year engineering)

Deadline: Friday, March 5, 2010 at 4p.m.

TEXAS ARMED SERVICES SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Criteria: Must meet two of the following 4 academic criteria:

1.  On track to graduate high school with the Distinguished Achievement Program

2.  Current High School GPA of 3.0 or higher

3.  SAT (1590) or ACT (23)

4.  Ranked in the top one-third of the high school graduating class

Amount: $10,000

Deadline: March 12, 2010

Valley Telephone Cooperative Scholarship Program

Criteria:

·  Be a dependent child of a current member of Valley Telephone Cooperative who resides in the Valley Telephone Service territory, and who has been a member of the Cooperative for at least one year as of the application deadline date.

·  Be a high school senior as of March 16, 2010. Have a minimum high school grade average of 80%.

·  Be a high school senior who plans to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited 2 or 4 year U.S. college or university in Fall 2010.

Neighbors In Need OF Services, INC. (NINOS) Head Start/Early Head Start Scholarship

Criteria: Must be a former student of the regular NINOS, Inc. Head Start Program. Must meet NINOS, Inc. scholarship income guidelines as indicated on the attached sheet. Must submit all information requested on application. Must be a resident of the NINOS, Inc. service area. Can only receive two NINOS, Inc. scholarship awards while enrolled in college.

Amount: 16 scholarships of $1200.00

Deadline: Monday, March 22, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.

The Goss Michael Foundation

Criteria: The Texas Art Scholarship is set aside for High School graduating seniors in the state of Texas who exhibit exceptional artistic abilities and will pursue a major in fine arts at the college level.

2010 Ozarka Natural Spring Water $10,000 “Every Drop Counts” Earth Science Scholarship Application:

Criteria: For students pursuing degrees at a four-year college or university in the field of earth/environmental science. Applicant must have a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average. Applicant must submit essay with application, transcript and signed “General Rules & Guidelines.” Applicant must currently be a United States citizen, Texas Resident, and accepted to or enrolled in a four year accredited college or university.

Willacy County Young Farmers Scholarship

Criteria: Graduating Seniors who attend a Willacy County High School. The recipient must be a full time student taking a minimum of 12 hours. Applicants must include a high school transcript. (3) Scholarships for $1000.00 each and (1) $1500.00 John Henry Jansen WCYF Memorial Ag. Scholarship.

2010 Jorge Rolando Gutierrez Foundation Scholarship

Criteria: Have been an athlete who has lettered at least one year in a varsity sport. Be a high school graduating senior. Be enrolled full-time in a degree-seeking program at a two or four year college or university.
