The John F. Donahue Graduate School of Business and A.J.PalumboSchool of Business Administration at DuquesneUniversity invite applications for the Donahue Chair in Investment Management. This endowed chair was established by a gift from the family of John F. Donahue, founder and Chairman of Federated Investors, Inc. Based in Pittsburgh,Pennsylvania, Federated Investors is one of the nation’s largest investment managers with assets under management exceeding $200 billion. The Chair enables the business school to attract a senior level investment managementprofessional who will contribute to its ambition for national visibility.

The ideal candidate possesses a substantial record of accomplishment in investment managementor finance that includes experience interfacing with clients, the media and/or public relations. In addition, the desire to work in an academic environment and lead an effort to build nationally recognized programs in investment management and finance is required.

The Donahue Chair is expected toaccomplish much of the following depending on the successful candidate’s particular interests and capabilities:

Direct and Promote the Fund Management Experience—the integrating experience in the BSBA Investment Management in which students manage a common stock portfolio as they strive to outperform their benchmark. Increase funds under management.

Design and implement a strategy to bring positive national visibility to investment management and finance programs by, for example, organizing national level conferences and speaker series on current issues in investment management and finance.

Obtain resources and develop initiatives to enrich the student experience.

Design and implement a strategy that results in successful placements nationally for graduates of the investment management and finance programs.

Teach graduate and/or undergraduate courses drawing upon the successful candidate’s particular interests and experience.

With 60 full-time faculty and an enrollment of approximately 1,800 students, the Donahue and PalumboSchools are housed in Rockwell Hall, a facility fully compatible with the latest advances in information technology. The InvestmentCenter is equipped with state-of-the-art software applications, financial and economic databases, and localized content expertise to support research in investments and finance.
