The Henley-on-Thames YMCA and is situated close to Tescos on the Reading Road. We see it as a resource for the whole community and so it is available for public hire. We shall endeavour to do our best to accommodate any reasonable requests you may have.

GUIDANCE NOTES & GENERAL CONDITIONS OF HIRING THE TIGER TURF

We want you to enjoy using the Tiger Turf, but would ask you to be mindful that:-

  1. Please leave the pitch and changing rooms in the same condition as you found them. Should we have to pay for extra cleaning, an additional charge will be payable.
  1. The finishing time stated on the Booking Form is the time at which you and all the members of your party should vacate the premises. Running late can cause problems if there are other hirers.

CONDITIONS OF HIRE

BOOKINGS

-The letting charges are payable at the time of booking. The fee should be forwarded to the Booking Secretary.

-Please ensure that the Tiger Turf is locked properly after you finish.

-Please ensure that if you use the toilet facilities that they are clean and all lights are turned off after your booking.

-Persons responsible for events/sessions must familiarise themselves with the Fire Safety Instructions enclosed.

-All bookings of the Tiger Turfare accepted on the express understanding that the Board of Management reserve the right at any time to cancel such bookings without notice, in which case the booking fee and deposit will be refunded.Booking will normally only be cancelled in exceptional unforeseen circumstances

THE PITCH

-Players can wear football boots with normal studs, trainers or Astro footwear.

-NB! Blades are not permitted for safety reasons.

-Please ensure that all litter is collected and place in the bin outside the court.

LOSS OR DAMAGE

- The hirer shall be responsible for settling in full any claims arising through theft or loss of any description from the pitch or changing rooms.

- All damage to the pitch, fittings or equipment must be paid for by the hirer. This includes any damage to the changing rooms and toilets.

-The YMCA accepts no liability for loss or damage to users belongings, property, vehicles or cycles in the Tiger Turf or car park.

FIRST AID

- There are two FIRST AID Kits located in the hall, one in the kitchen and one in the hall area.

- The Accident log book is in the First Aid box in the hall.

- If you use any of the items out of the kits please let YMCA staff know, so that they can be replaced.

GENERAL

- Any activities held for children under the age of eighteen must comply with The Children Act of 1989.

- No person under the age of 18 is allowed to hire the pitch unless accompanied by a responsible adult.

- The YMCA reserve the right for any officials to enter the premises at any time.

Please consider our neighbours. All noise must be kept down to a reasonable level, and please leave the court and car park quietly.

In the event of a fire at the Tiger Turf.

During Henley YMCA Office hours, report the fire to the office staff immediately.

At other times ring 999 and ask for ‘fire’.

Keep calm and give the operator the address as follows:

YMCA Tiger Turf, 2 Lawson Road, Henley on Thames, Oxfordshire, RG9 1NZ.

Sound the nearest alarm point on the walls by breaking the glass cover and pressing the alarm button.

Vacate the Tiger Turf and assemble by the green fire assembly point displayed on the first tree in the wooded area outside the main entrance to the hall building.

Use the nearest available exit

Do not stop to collect personal belongings

Do not re-enter the building

Walk - do not run

The person responsible for the event/party should establish, without putting themselves at personal risk, that all persons are accounted for.

Attack the fire where possible with the appliances provided but without putting yourself or others at personal risk.

If someone’s clothing is on fire, wrap a blanket, rug or similar article closely round them and lay them on the ground to prevent the flames reaching the head. If electrical appliances are involved, switch off the appliance before dealing with the fire. If you can do so without putting yourself at risk, shut the doors and the windows of the room in which the fire is discovered.
