PROPOSAL ON INITIATING A STUDY ON A NEW APT REPORT ON SYSTEM DEPLOYMENT AND RELEVANT TESTING STUDIES OF RAILWAY RADIOCOMMUNICATION SYSTEMS IN APT COUNTRIES

1. Introduction

AWG has established the Task Group on railway radiocommunication at AWG-19 meeting in 2016. TG-Railway has been actively carrying out studies on APT report System description of railway radiocommunication system between train and trackside (RSTT) and well liaised with APG and WP5A.

It would be valuable to share experiences of deployment of railway radiocommunication systems, studies on radio propagation characteristics under high speed movement in typical scenarios and other field testing studies which are related to deployment of railway radiocommunication systems. These experiences and studies will be helpful to APT Members when they develop their own railway radiocommunication systems.

2. Proposal

This Administration proposes AWG-21 to consider initiating a study on a new APT Report on system deployment and relevant testing studies of railway radiocommunication systems in APT countries. Work-plan for this study is in Annex to this contribution.
