Dear Coach,

Please read this letter and distribute the information to all families.

Just like last year: Expanded Friday, Expanded Events, Reduced Entry Limit

  • Full Day Friday - The meet will be 3 full days, almost. Friday warm up will begin at 10:00 AM for 11-Over. Saturday and Sunday warm up will begin at 7:30 AM.
  • 30 Minute Break - Following the first event each day there will be a 30-minute break for warm up and cool down. During that time three lanes will be restricted to 10-Unders only. The first events each day are 11-Older events. Consult the event schedule for more information.
  • 11-12 Expanded Offerings - The 11-12 age group will find the 200s of the strokes available to them this year. Swimmers entering those events will be required to enter with an 11-12 Inland Empire A time or faster.
  • 13-Over Expanded Offerings - The 13-14 and 15-Over age groups have 50s of the strokes. Please enter your swimmers 50M times.
  • Mile - 1500 free for 11-Over swimmers is the last event on Sunday and will be limited to the fastest three heats each of men and women.
  • Reduced Entry Limit - All swimmers will be limited to 4 events each day.
  • Entry Procedure - No hand written entries accepted. Teams without Hy-Tek®TeamManager software may download Hy-Tek®TM Lite for free from this link:

Timers From Each Team Needed

We’re a little shorthanded right now and staffing the lane timers will require volunteers from all areas for the meet to operate uninterrupted. Please prepare your parents to volunteer. A timer registration will be posted at the starting end of the pool and they are encouraged to sign in early.

RV’s, Camping, and Parking

No arrivals before 5:00 PM Thursday, 14 June. The grass is not for parking cars and we’ve had some close calls with vehicles nearly hitting children playing. Once vehicles are in the park area they will not be permitted to leave until Sunday. Please park transportation vehicles in the lot across the street from the pool. Please advise your families the Wapato City Park is not a full service RV park and they are not entitled to hookups, holding tank dumps, unusually early arrivals or any other RV park privileges.

Entrant Limit

We anticipate 400+ swimmers. Submit your entries as soon as possible since we have a 400-entrant limit.

Maps and Directions

If your members have never toured the lower Yakima Valley please photocopy and distribute the attached maps and directions. In particular, the map of the pool and surrounding park will be important to those bringing RVs to the meet.

Relays

The 10 & Under relays are required to make their 50 and 150 exchanges in the water. The turn end is not deep enough to permit starts from the deck.

If you have any questions, please call. I look forward to seeing you at the meet.
