Junior world championship and woman world championship for the blind and visual disabled in Belgrade 2013

From 21st of August (arrival day) until the 1st of September (departure day) there where two tournaments, junior world championship and woman world championshipwhere played at the same time in Belgrade.
The venue was the Slavia Hotel, which is the same as where the 2010 world championship was played.

Both tournaments where 9 rounds swiss system.

Opening:

The 22nd of August both tournaments where official opened at the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony contained speeches and music by a local group of singers.

Woman world championship:

17 participants from 8 different countries where playing for the woman world title

The gold medal would be decided in the last round, whereLubov Zsitlzova-Lisenko had half a point lead over Daria Pustovoitova. Both players managed to win their game.

Gold: WIM Lubov Zsitlzova-Lisenko (UKR)

Silver: FM Daria Pustovoitova (RUS)

Bronze: WCM Anna Stolarczyk (POL)

Junior world championship:

21 participants from 7 different countries where playing for the junior world title.

The gold medal was won by Stanislav Babarykin after the 8th round. But for the bronze and silver medal it was exciting until the end.

Closing ceremony:
The closing ceremony was on August the 30th , where the medals and trophies where given to the winnars, and where we had some more speeches and gitar music.

Rest day:

At the rest day we had an excursion on boat on the Donau and Saba river. A guide told many interesting things about the buildings, the rivers and the city of Belgrade. The players got a braille book with information about the excursion.
