Position Summary:
Provides IT and EMR support for the SCCC with particular attention to staff support and special projects as assigned. This position is PRN with the expectation to provide coverage during both planned and unplanned IT Coordinator absence from the main office (vacations, time at other locations, sick time).
The IT/EMR Support Tech must demonstrate regard for the rights of all patients and provides respectful and considerate care focused on the patient's individual needs. The IT/EMR Support Tech will provide a safe and confidential environment for patients, families and personnel.

Essential Functions:
· Supports Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Application systems, specifically Aprima Medical Records.
· Supports organizational IT issues across all clinic users. Works with the IT Coordinator to correct issues, build skills, and acquire improved understanding.
· Collaborates and communicates effectively with internal and external contacts.
· Interacts with vendors and consultants such as interface partners, office telephone communications system, and any special projects as needed.
· Acts as liaison between IT contractors and end users for hardware, software, network and system configuration as needed.
· Provides staff support and training in the use of EMR technologies.
· Identifies on-going and new employee training requirements and procedures and communicates needs to IT Coordinator.
· Provides in-office EMR/PMS support including troubleshooting, researching, and testing of application.
· Recognizes IT needs and system upgrades and communicates those needs to IT Coordinator.
· Supports EHR/portal enrollment hardware operation and maintenance.
· Assists in providing new staff onboarding/orientation with Aprima as needed to ensure that staff is properly trained to complete necessary tasks for job performance.
· Supports IT Coordinator with special projects as assigned.
Skills Needed:
1. Working knowledge of Aprima Electronic Medical Records.
2. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
3. Ability to troubleshoot IT issues within the office and resolve in a timely manner.

Education/Experience: Must possess an associate's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of relevant education, technical, business and healthcare experience.
Requires intermediate to advanced skills using word processing, spreadsheet, database and other standard business applications. Requires communication and presentation skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences. Requires ability to communicate and interact across facilities and at various levels.
Language Ability: Ability to read, write and clearly speak the English language. Ability to read, write and clearly speak the Spanish language - preferred. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and deal with multiple linguistic cultural variables.
Reasoning and Mental Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to exercise independent judgment. Self-directing and organized. Ability to reason objectively. Ability to assess, project and plan for patients’ needs. Ability to interpret state/ federal/agency regulations. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a solid knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software and database software.
Certificates and Licenses:
OSHA required courses for positions, CPR.

Work Environment:
The work environment is in a healthcare setting and can be fast paced and involve working directly with patients and healthcare professionals. Many of our patients with chronic disease have a minimal level of health literacy and a significant number of barriers to accessing health care. The individual may also work in a clerical setting.
