Junior Fair Exhibitorscan show two fancy poultry and other fowl per class.

- “Best of Show” Competition: Monday 9:30 AM
- Market Poultry Show: Monday Following Best of Show Competition

Best of Show Poultry
Best of Show Poultry will be housed at the fair for the week as long as space if available.
Pullet Production
1. Shown as one class.
2. Exhibit two pullets (female chickens under one year old)
3. Entries must be at least 6 months old on show day
4. Entries may be hybrid breed or purebred
Fancy Poultry
1. All birds should be at least 6 months of age at the time of the show.
2. Classes will be as follows: Large fowl, bantam – and may be further subdivided if necessary.
3. One entry consists of two chickens, one male and one female, of the same breed and variety.
4. Birds will be judged according to the latest edition of the American
Standard of Perfection published by the American Poultry Association.
5. Birds will be tested for pullorum/fowl typhoid disease upon arrival at the fairgrounds by a tester approved by the Ohio department of agriculture and must be found negative for exhibition.
Ducks and Geese
1. One entry consists of two ducks or two geese
2. Classes will be as follows: Breeding ducks and geese, Meat ducks and geese – and may be further subdivided if necessary.
3. Breeding ducks and geese should be at least 6 months of age at the time of the show and will be judged according to the latest edition of the American Poultry Standard of Perfection published by the American Poultry Association.
4. An entry of breeding ducks or geese should consist of one male and one female.
5. An entry of meat ducks or geese will consist of two males.
6. Meat ducks and geese will be judged for uniformity and meat quality.
Turkey
1. One entry consists of two turkeys.
2. Classes will be as follows: Breeding turkeys, Meat turkeys – and may be further subdivided if necessary.
3. Breeding turkeys should be at least 6 months of age at the time of the show and will be judged according to the latest edition of the American Poultry Standard of Perfection published by the American Poultry Association.
4. An entry of breeding turkeys should consist of one male and one female.
5. An entry of meat turkeys will consist of two males.
6. Meat turkeys will be judged for uniformity and meat quality.

Champion Best of Show Poultry
Market Poultry Rules:
1. Market chickens must originate from flock or hatchery which is a participant in the National Poultry Improvement Plan for the eradication of disease. Only chicks ordered from the Extension Office will be eligible to be shown and sold as market chickens at the fair. Any chicken not purchased this way, or exemplifying non-broiler characteristics, will be disqualified from showing and selling.
2. Projects must be picked up at the fairgrounds on Chick Pick-Up day, or forfeit their money and the project. Adequate notification of time of pick-up will be given. Club members are not permitted to pick up another member’s projects unless prior arrangements are made.
3. Junior Fair Exhibitors must select a pen-of-two to take to the fair. More than one member cannot share a project of six chicks.
4. Junior Fair Exhibitors can only bring to the fair the chickens that were marked in their name on chick pick-up day.
5. To show the pen-of-two, the junior fair exhibitor should have the assistance of one other junior fair exhibitor.
6. The pen-of-two must weigh a minimum of 7 pounds at the fair weigh-in to show in market class.
7. “Thank You” signs are to be no larger than 8.5” x 11.”

1. Senior Poultry Showmanship (15-18 years old) **mandatory for premium
