Dear Interested Citizen, Local Resident, and/or Elected Official:

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) would like to cordially invite you to a public information meeting regarding the proposed interchange modification and reconstruction project at I-65 and I-465 on the southeast side of Indianapolis, Marion County. This project is part of Operation Indy Commute http://www.IndyCommute.indot.in.gov.

The purpose of this meeting is to provide an update regarding project developments since INDOT last met with the community in April of this year. Following the public hearing, project development activities have continued resulting in proposed enhancements such as (1) extending the existing northbound auxiliary lane along I-65 from just north of the Southport Road interchange to just north of the Thompson Road overpass, (2) the continued evaluation and consideration of noise related impacts associated with additional proposed construction. The proposed auxiliary lane will be bordered by paved shoulder and will help alleviate traffic congestion along northbound I-65. The additional evaluation of noise related impacts may result in additional noise wall segments.

The purpose of this meeting is to inform the community of project developments including the project scope and schedule, preliminary design plans, and to solicit input from the community. The purpose of this project is to enhance safety and traffic capacity within the corridor.
