IT Training Specialist II:
• Have experience developing training content for various software applications. For example, we’re not looking for career SAP training developers. They need to have worked with various applications.
• Must have experience learning software applications without limited access to resources (materials, SMEs, etc)
• Understands and can apply the ADDIE process
• Proactive and comfortable engaging technical team members/business stakeholders
• Suggestions for job titles to looks for – Instructional Designers, Curriculum Developers, Learning Specialist, Courseware Developer
• I cannot stress enough that experience with content development for software is required. Training for soft skills, professional development, sales, etc. is a completely different ball game.
• Must have experience creating print content (job aids, workbooks, quick reference guides, user guides, presentations). Not solely e-learning and videos.
Main things:
• 3 or more years of work experience in IT, including at least one year of experience in a training coordination role
• Experience with training design and delivery, including experience with computer-based training
• Proven experience with adult learning principles, methodologies, and course design techniques
• Experience with desktop publishing tools, including experience creating and modifying graphic objects
• Experience with building and maintaining course and participant databases
• Assess, recommend, and develop IT training solutions to achieve desired business capabilities and skill levels for end users
The Role:
The Senior Training Specialist’s role is to create documentation to support training end users in the organization on how to use various types of software applications and solutions efficiently and effectively. This individual is responsible for designing, developing, and improving technical training programs and related courseware, including user job aids, and for coordinating with outside vendors as needed to supplement internal training materials and training delivery capabilities as needed.
Core responsibilities:
Strategy (15%):
Coordinate with IT and Business leaders to assess training needs and objectives
Assess, analyze, and report on end user training needs
Develop and coordinate an overall technical training curriculum for end users for all levels
Execution (75%):
• Assess, recommend, and develop IT training solutions to achieve desired business capabilities and skill levels for end users
• Design, develop, and prepare training programs and tools to achieve desired business capabilities and skill levels for end users for both new as well as existing software applications and solutions, including course materials, training exercises and skill evaluations
• Coordinate or support instructor-led training sessions as required
• Review training materials and documentation and keep them up-to-date
• Create and communicate IT training schedules in consultation with key stakeholders
• Coordinate with National Training or Divisional training departments to:
• Establish and maintain a database to track training participants’ status and results
• Create, coordinate, and administer training event feedback mechanisms
• Analyze feedback results, make recommendations for training improvement, and integrate changes in curriculum and/or courses
• Work with IT groups to keep apprised of changes and upcoming implementations for software applications and solutions
• Building Capabilities (10%):
• Stay up-to-date with developments in both commercial and custom-built software applications and solutions within Southern Wine & Spirits
• Conduct research into computer-based training products and services in support of development efforts
• Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices related to training and end user documentation
• Mentor peers to help them build capabilities
• Improve efficiency of team

• 5 or more years of work experience
• 3 or more years of work experience in IT, including at least one year of experience in a training coordination role

• Good understanding of the organization’s business goals and objectives
