Congratulations! Your academic achievement of having a cumulative grade point average of an 89% or higher makes you a candidate for continued membership into the Central Dauphin Middle School (CDMS) chapter of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS). The NJHS is an organization that recognizes not only academic achievement, but also other characteristics essential to citizens in a democracy. The purpose of the NJHS is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, stimulate a desire to render service, promote leadership, develop character and encourage citizenship. Acceptance into the NJHS is an honor reserved for the best all-around students at CDMS. Students who earned 3 or more Warning Cards, an ISS or OSS during the 2010 – 2011 will not be considered for continuation of membership into the NJHS. To maintain continued membership, please complete the attached application and return it to the Guidance Office NO LATER THAN May 6, 2011. To complete the application, you need to simply add to the application you submitted last year for initial membership. As a current member of the NJHS, list all committees you worked on during this school yearin Section I. If you saved the file last year, you only need to make additions or a few changes and highlight it before turning it in again. It is also a good idea to continue adding to it throughout your high school years so that when you are ready to apply to colleges and for scholarships, the information will be readily available to you. You only need to make additions to sections I through IV. Please highlight everything that you add to the application so I can plainly see how you have contributed throughout the past year. If you do not wish to be considered for 2nd year membership, please indicate that on the application.

Students will be notified in writing to confirm their continued membershipin the CDMS National Junior Honor Society. Students are required to attend the induction ceremony scheduled for June 6, 2011 at 6:30 pm to retain membershipin the society.
