Your research and project may be completed in English or Italian.
Why are you studying a second (or third or fourth) language? Since everylanguage and its culture are intertwined, studying another language is ultimately about connecting with another culture. Furthermore, to effectively use a language, one must understand the cultural context in which the communication takes place. In Part D, you will have the opportunity to learn about another culture..The objective of this Cultural Project is that students explore a topic of interest
to them and present what they have learned in a presentation (use Prezi or Google Slide for a presentation and insert the link in the space provided below) or essay (insert your completed essay in the space provided below).Generally, for the Cultural Studies project, students will explore an aspect of the culture (e.g. food, famous sights, sports, fashion, etc.).The Cultural Studies project is very open so that students can choose their topic as well as their method of presentation. It should take about five to seven hours to complete the project – that includes time spent researching, reading, etc. as well as creating the final project that you will submit for this First Assignment. There are some suggestions in the instructions below. Please also see the rubric at the end of this document that is used in the evaluation of the projects so that you can make sure that you include all of the required elements. in the next step to demonstrate your findings? - What did you enjoy or find frustrating?
- How does what you have learned affect your understanding of this culture?
- Do you have any questions about the culture? Do you need to do more research?
