A few hundred metres south of the anchorages is the entrance to the «Emerald Cave» is an 80 metre pitch dark passage way leading to completely enclosed circular, cathedral like Hong, with a diameter of 60 metres. The walls are draped in lush foliage above a tiny patch of grey silica sand beach an ethereal glow makes it seem as if you were encased inside an emerald, looking out. Ko Lanta well knows for the «French survivor» TV series. But I wouldn’t like to destroy the myth. The series had never been act in Ko Lanta, but on 2 small islands named Ko Rok Nok and Ko Rok Nai, 15 miles away.

However, we have a good mooring inside the neighbour bay of Ko Yao Yai. We can visit the local Muslim village, but polite dress should be worn.
Ko Kai Nok is another great daytime anchorage. The brilliant white, all tide beaches on its northern end can be seen from miles.
In either season, you will find a couple of places to tuck in close to avoid the occasional ground swell witch can occur in this open anchorage.
A wide variety of fish and coral make this island a favourite for scuba divers and snorkelling at slack water and neap tides.
An excellent day destination for families because of the small cove teeming with brilliantly coloured Sergeant Major fish which will feed from your hand.
Nevertheless, another good mooring is also available on Ko Yao Yai West cost opposite to this island.
Ko Khai Nai is a very small island with a beautiful daily mooring on the Island North East side.
