A HOUSE RESOLUTION
TO CONGRATULATE DR. ROBERT GROUP, ENGLISH PROFESSOR AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA, SALKEHATCHIE CAMPUS, ON HIS RETIREMENT AFTER TWENTYEIGHT YEARS OF DEVOTED SERVICE, AND TO EXTEND BEST WISHES TO HIM FOR A HEALTHY AND FRUITFUL RETIREMENT.
Whereas, since 1978, Dr. Robert Group has taught English at the University of South Carolina, Salkehatchie Campus; and
Whereas, he is a full professor at the University, having completed his B.S., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees in English from the University of South Carolina; and
Whereas, as well as his teaching duties at USC Salkehatchie Campus, Dr. Group has served as the Humanities and Social Sciences Division Chair for over twenty years; and
Whereas, Dr. Group also has served as Academic Dean for the campus for a twoyear period; and
Whereas, he has had such diverse responsibilities at USC Salkehatchie as golf coach, yearbook advisor, and Gamma Beta Phi advisor; and
Whereas, Dr. Group is well respected and admired by his colleagues and students alike; and
Whereas, he will certainly be missed, but he will be fondly remembered for all the accomplishments at Salkehatchie under his leadership. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives congratulate Dr. Robert Group, English Professor at the University of South Carolina, Salkehatchie Campus, on his retirement after twentyeight years of devoted service, and extend their best wishes to him for a healthy and fruitful retirement.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. Group.
