14.  Clear, mono-filament quilting thread

15.  Assorted fabrics:

·  1 yard of a large-scale print that includes 3 – 5 colors to provide your color scheme. (If you think this print might make a great outer border, bring ¾ yard more of it for a total of 1 ¾ yard.) Bring ½ yard second complementary large-scale print if it’s available - it can be used very effectively.

·  Bring 12 – 15 fat quarters of fabric that co-ordinate with your large-scale print(s) and include: variety in color, scale of print, type of print (i.e., dots, stripes, “conversation” prints). Check out the class sample on my website: www.cathiehooverstudios.com

16.  Trims – colors that coordinate with your fabrics – can match or contrast. Bring at least 1 yard of each linear embellishment, such as:

·  Rickrack in various widths from baby to 1 ¼”.

·  Woven braids (up to ½” wide) and ribbons (usually no wider than 3/8”)

·  Fancy yarns to couch in place

·  Assorted iron-on embroidery patches, no larger than 3” square

17.  Piece of batting for a design wall – approximately 5’ x 5’

18.  Other embellishments to keep in mind that you will attach after quilt is pieced and quilted:

·  Buttons, beads, charms, and/or fusible rhinestones

19.  OPTIONAL: a specialized couching foot for your machine if available – Bernina #43 or #20 (Open toe appliqué foot)

Optional: For purchase in class, my original 6-piece acrylic template set for $16. * Omit starred items in list above if you plan on buying a set.
